Really? Because from the stats, it looks more like OSU shut down Oregon's passing game in that one.

Oregon having to rely on its defense to win a game is its worst nightmare.

They're about 50th against the run and somewhere in the 109th against the pass...the line play is very much key, but it's not just there.

Good point. Oregon's game is to score quickly and force you to play catch up by passing. They force a lot of turnovers as a result. Oregon really doesn't have a shut down defense.

I'm almost not sure how much it would have mattered though.


They're not able to stop any aspect of OSU's offense at all...this early in the game, I'm unsure OSU wouldn't have caught back up.
