Official Game Thread - SECT: Friday, 1pm (ESPN) vs. MSU

Not a fan of TN football, eh?
There have been bad football teams but I don't remember a team just flat out quitting. I guess you could go back to the SEC Tournament game in the early 90s where Kentucky beat the Vols by 50 or 60 points but that was just a bad team. This team had a lot to play for and they just quit early in the game.

According to Ron Slay yesterday on 104.5 The Zone, we held a “rough” practice and looked dialed in and playing aggressive defense against one another. He said he was there for an hour and Knecht only missed one shot during the whole thing.
so they got tired out in practice. One would think Barnes would chage up practice toward the end of the year. That when it seems his teams always runs out of gas or looks gassed come tourney time

What an embarrassment.
You must be talking about yourself. After winning this tournament 2 years ago, we got the same seed as we were projected going in to the tournament. Other teams besides us are good. MSU played great today and we didn't. We clinched the 18 game marathon with one game to play. Winning at Rupp, Coleman and Stegman down the stretch. We're 24-8 SEC champs and a 1 or 2 seed in the Big Dance. They're anything but embarrassing. You?

I'm so ready for Santi and jj to move on. I appreciate what they've done, but it's gotten pretty stale.
I can't believe how bad they are playing right now. They are a liability on offense. A combined 1-12 today? Are you kidding me?

As bad as this looks, and it's pretty embarrassing, I don't mind having the extra days of rest. By the time Tennessee plays in the NCAA Tournament, they will have played only one game in 11 or 12 days.

Well...you can't get any more embarassed than we did today. We got served some humble pie. At least the thought of getting embarassed won't be a new thought come NCAA tourney, since it already happened. We won't have that in the back of our mind...

I do not remember a single game in Tennessee Athletic history where the team showed less heart and less pride in wearing the Orange and White. They got punched in the nose early and they just flat out quit. They never attacked the rim nor did they defend it. They just flat out quit.

Something tells me you ddn't get the pleasure of watching Kevin O'Neill's last Tennessee squad. The one that scored around 40 points a half dozen times that year. I forget which year, but mid-90s.

Or hell, I remember, barely, some game against Kentucky when Wade was just about done, where Kentucky obliterated Tennesseee. They won by fifty or sixty points, I forget. It was absolute trash fire bad.

What’s crazy is I think half of fanbase seem to think the season is over with comments like this 😂😂😂 terrible take after terrible take galore
You have the faith of a saint if you can watch what has happened our last two games and still feel some confidence about the NCAA tournament.

Agreed, I do tend to think he overdoes it when it comes to that stuff. I mean, they haven’t forgotten how to play, no need to run them into the ground the day before a tournament.
