We got out of Nashville with no injuries, just bruised egos. Regroup and move on. No one was ever going to judge this team based on what they did in the SECT
I agree with the judgment part, but this performance raised some huge concerns in that we were clobbered by a team that lost 10 conference games on a "Neutral" court in Nashville. We got out of Nashville with no injuries, just bruised egos. Bolded part says it allI am not the type of person to call for a coaches job but this team should AT LEAST win two tourney games. If CRB fails to do that, then Danny White needs to take a hard look at the direction of the BBALL program under Rick. I have seen enough early exits from UT basketball teams that should have advanced further than they did. Sorry, kind of pizzed off right now.
As far as 1 seed discussion goes, yes. As far as 2 seed, probably not.I hear you, but I think a lot of people - a LOT of people - are going to judge Tennessee based on this tournament flame out. Especially this week. It's going to be sarcasm and snotty commentary all week as the media personalities try to distance themselves from their positive Tennessee commentary.
I'm at a loss for words. After beating Auburn, Bama, and SC in 3 straight games I for sure thought this was UT's best chance at a final 4. The last two games look nothing like those performancesI am not the type of person to call for a coaches job but this team should AT LEAST win two tourney games. We played a gauntlet at the end of the year. these other teams we are getting ready to play haven't played us several times.Hey, look at the bright side, most people said an early exit is what the Vols needed to get rested for the big dance. I just donāt see any way the Vols can string together 4 wins with their struggles offensively. Iām afraid the tag regular season Rick will rear its ugly head again in the NCAAās. Unfortunately, you are judged how you do in the tournament. We certainly cannot use the excuse we will be tired.
Point well taken on Mashack and Gainey for sure.I agree neither has played well but when given the shot no one else has taken the reigns either. Mashack probably should get some more minutes but Gainey is as inconsistent as either of the ones mentioned.
At one point, 2/17 shooting from 3 before halftime. Needed another option of offense besides throw up haymakers and hoping.Idk, JJJ and SV have regressed this season. I question a lot of RBs combinations with his lineups. He puts some terrible combos on the court. Teams always look burnt out at tourney time. I'm a RB fan but not blind. He sucks in March.
This is not the end of the world. If they make the Final Four, this is easily forgotten. I have to think that a lack of motivation was at least partially to blame for today. It's much worse than we have played all season.Loss stinks but a 2 seed is still a great year. Rest up and start prepping for the tournament.
True but if theyāre going to have a dud/bad game at the end of the season in a loser goes home setting, Iād rather it happen here than for either of next weekendās games. As much as I'm trying to pull some silver lining out of this, I can't. I just hope this was a nightmare matchup for us. Losing by almost 20 in a loser goes home setting, with a huge fanbase advantage, and the 2nd best player in the country is demoralizing. No other way around it.
M state scored more in the paint the first half vs Vols than they did the whole game vs LSU last night. It's just frustrating we supposed to have so much better D than LSU on paper, it just baffles the mind.Aidoo played bad today as well. We need some consistency from our post players and we just aren't getting it.
