I hope this question creates a civil discussion because I am genuinely curious:

What is the fundamental difference in spending billions on NASA and spending billions on climate change?

I personally don’t support giving NASA billions of dollars. But one big difference is appropriating money to climate change is ridiculous. So is it safe to assume the you support electric vehicles? That will put an even bigger strain on the power grid than gas powered vehicles. We cannot change the sun, which is the biggest determination of the climate.

We shouldn’t be spending billions on NASA or climate change.

Our climate will change regardless of what we do. It’s done it many times over the millennia. Investment in space exploration may lead to an alternative to this rock for humanity.

Any money spent on “climate change” should be spent on how we live and thrive in a warming climate and not how to slow or stop it. So far our response to climate change has been nothing more than a mechanism to enact more controls on the citizenry and line to pockets of the elite.

We are spending billions of dollars to just be apart of some global, pseudo science club that can’t stop what the earth has always done , change its climate .. when we have these clear and present dangers to our oceans that is without a doubt man made , and 100% our doing . Where’s the global outrage and PR for this , something that all countries could put that money toward and see immediate results from ?

When you go back to the basics, which is the data which we consider, we know for a fact that data from China and Russia has been falsified, what about our own?

My dad recently explained to me the root cause of global warming.

He said that in the 70s and 80s the world was threatened by a new ice age and acid rain. They kicked so much ass on that the climate swing back the other way and brought us our current global warming problems.

This made more sense than anything I’ve ever heard.
