It might go either way because of that "on any given ... guess we have to call it gameday now since games aren't just on Saturday". I'm not thinking we'll catch Bama or GA napping; but in almost fifty years of watching UT football, you can never tell when one of the others like even KY or Vandy will for some reason get uppity on game day. Back in the 60s when they were the last games and not going to bowls (because there weren't a couple of hundred of those), Vandy and KY would absolutely pull out all the stops because TN was their bowl game.

In any case except for some key losses like Taylor in the secondary; the defense is improving. We had a preview of how bad it might have been in last year's bowl game. I'm of the opinion especially after the LSU game the way to play the rest of the season is just flat out go after the QB and hope for the best in the secondary.

I'm thinking that the fans will rattle their cages this week, because I don't think they have experienced an excited and pent up Tennessee fan base before. Unless the game gets out of control early in Bama's favor, I expect TN to be up in their grill all night with fan noise.

I was quite public with my 8-4 prediction since spring camp if not earlier. Never been so happy to be wrong in my entire life that i can remember....looks like 10 wins is the floor now. We have a punchers chance against anyone and everyone that we play, and control our own destiny concerning the playoffs....though playoffs are admittedly a long shot with the no1 and no3 teams left on our regular season schedule.

Wish my Pappaw and Dad could have been around a couple more years to see this. The Pitt and gators games might have killed 1 or both of them...but 98 was heartwrenching nearly every game and they loved it. GO VOLS
