Went to get my tire patched...D.T. only uses patches, won't plug. He checked my other front tire because he thought it looked to be a few pounds low. Turns out, i had a drywall screw in 1 of them, and a roofing nail in the other. Both of them close to the sidewall...so they replaced both of them for free. Only have to pay to put insurance on the 2 new front tires. $15.85 cents per tire. After the government thieves take their cut, the total was $37.20 for 2 brand new front tires with insurance on them as well. Cant beat it with a stick IMO. Love their customer service, too. One of my favorite companies.

Don't let MLV fool you with his "Discount Tires" receipt.

If he is doing any shopping at all on the South side of Charlotte, he's got money. That is high end real estate, right there. ;)

Technically have 2 kids in college (at least for a couple more months) I dont even remember what it feels like to have "play money" anymore lol. Maybe 1 of these days. Note the top left corner says "Honda Civic" 😃 after almost 30 years in a truck or van though (before trucks were like Lexus inside the way they are now for $70k and up,) I am admittedly perfectly happy that my "work truck" is a manual civic coupe that I abuse. Lot more comfortable, easier to drive and park, never breaks down etc. Gonna wait til I get my youngest here through college before I get my midlife crisis vehicle. If I live that long anyway...

I feel you, brother. Stroked my first college tuition check this fall. Only 7 more for that kid. Then 16 more for the next two.

undergrad from UT, grad degree from UNC-CH. Saved hard for kids. Get punished for that saving when it comes to financial aid. I would have been better off buying a truck and getting handouts instead of socking it away each month for 18 years and getting punished because I have too much money saved.

Oh well. Will keep on driving the 2006 Corolla, with manual transmission, manual windows, timing chain (not belt) and (hopefully) nothing to break. Got probably 320k miles on it by now. I don't really know, that year's model stops counting at 299,999, and that was a while back.

Midlife crisis vehicle? I started a family late. By the time I can afford something else, it will have a Hoveround badge on it. 😂

I feel for you guys paying tuition these days. Our deal with the kids were they took out a loan to cover that year/semester and if they kept their grades up we paid it off. Hell of a leg up for a kid to graduate debt free.

We've made same commitments. I have 9 more semesters to fund between 2 kids.

@gcbvol

I saw your comment over in the Pub Milton thread, and figured I would take an off topic discussion to this thread.

Have you ever watched a weiner dog race? I know the Ice Bears (or whatever they are called now) do one in Knoxville that is a lot of fun.
Yes! Was several years ago in Chicago. It was so much fun. They are adorable, and have huge personalities. Favorite breed, hands down.
