Official Gramps' Memorial Eternal OT Thread

I know about the DL. Who else for are we in good shape with?

An OTackle in 26 from the same HS as David Sanders, but a year behind him. Also a Cornerback that everyone wants too. The CB said UT was his no1 school currently after the Bama game. He has been on campus a few times before. Our staff is much, much better at identifying talent early in the Carolinas and starting relationships with these kids as 8th, 9th graders etc. We were in on current Dline players Pearce and Josephs for example before any SEC rivals. It matters. In addition to the 3 standouts above from NC, we started this 26 class with the no1 QB nationally Faizon Brandon thats also from Greensboro NC. We started recruiting him in 8th grade lol. It helps us a lot that there is no good football program in NC...so UT is kinda the default dominant football school for NC at least in the 90s and now that we are great again.

I think us raiding NC is taking a lot away from Clemson. even the rise of NC, while it lasted, were from guys we would normally have gotten.

All good news here. Mentions we are also trending to flip a top100 LB committed to SC. We are on fire right now, just like after the pivotal win over bama in 22. He even says that in this video. It was a masterstroke by CJH...invite over 100 top players from 25, 26, and 27 then beat bama, again. Huge.

One of the greatest aircraft ever built...and for Close Air Support it is THE greatest ever. (Apologies to the AC130 Spectre, also the LAST thing enemy troops want to see coming) Idiot bureaucrats have tried to put the Warthogs on the chopping block over and over again...but each time, sanity has prevailed. To retire the Warthogs is akin to firing MJ in his prime. There is literally nothing on Earth better at what it does. You can watch YT videos all day about the BRRRRRTTT!!! As well as reading or hearing testimonies of Infantry guys who were greatly outnumbered, or pinned down, or otherwise sure to all be overrun until the Warthogs showed up and immediately turned the tide of battle. Its awesome how much ordinance they can carry in addition to the nose cannon which the plane is actually assembled around. The only thing more impressive is how much damage they can take and still fly home. Multiple different attacks where the pilot flew home missing half a wing, most of the tail of the aircraft etc. In fact, all the flight controls for the ailerons, elevators etc which control the aircraft are made to be blown to sheit. They are hydraulic, but redundantly mechanical so that even if the hydraulics are shot to pieces the pilot can still maintain control of the aircraft from inside the giant armored "bathtub" in which he sits that is nestled inside the cockpit. If CAS killing ground forces were a "nail" ,the A10 is the finest "hammer" ever made.

Need to turn them over to the Army.

This video is great. Brooks, the host, played college football and is director of recruiting for SI... and now breaks down tape. He does a better job diagraming plays and explaining techniques than anyone else I have found.

A few thoughts having watched myself:

Milroe is not a good QB. His fundamentals are terrible. He is a great athlete. Should have played RB or Safety. Could have had an NFL career. Wont have a career at QB IMO. He still has jr high footwork and accuracy.

We are close as an offense. Inches away. 1 person not executing on any given play can and does ruin a play and drive.

The TEs and especially Holden Staes had MONSTER 2nd half blocking and are largely responsible for Sampson surge. Brooks calls their names a bunch. They wrecked LBs and safeties as lead blockers.

We have a championship level defense if the offense can improve. Thats a big "if". Just making the playoffs this year would be amazing and beyond anyones reasonable expectations preseason.

McCoy is an All American. He owned that 17yo WR everyone fears despite 19 passes thrown at him. He is gonna be a big star, and make huge $$$ lifetime. Brooks is the glue that holds our secondary together though. He made outstanding plays to save 2 TDs, maybe 3 in addition to his 8 tackles, pick, TFL etc. He is so smart that he never makes false steps, so he plays faster than his actual athleticism suggests.

I love this team. Every bit as much as the 98 team if not more. Great young men that love eachother and the coaches. We are landing better players every year because of culture. What the current players tell recruits about life as a UT player, when theyre 1on1 and being honest. Several recruits mention that to AP. That the current players love playing here, and thats super important in their decision about where to sign. We are lucky to have this staff.

Omar N Lott is unblockable right now. 2 sacks vs UF, then had 12 pressures in 18 pass plays vs Bama. 67% pressure. For comparison, Pearce leads the SEC at ~24% pressures on the season.
