Official Gramps' Memorial Eternal OT Thread

Check out the GLARING grammar error in the second sentence above...in the tweet from the official OSU twitter...

G - Gracious AND victory AND defeat.

Correctly it would read:

G- Gracious IN victory AND defeat.

Thought us Hillbillies from Tennessee were supposed to be the ignorant ones, right?

That's quite embarrassing. One who reads and writes at a 3rd grade level should catch an error of this kind. Good grief.

The Vols have a pneumonic, too

WGWTFA.

Took a gf to a Vandy or UK game at home back in the 99 or 2000 season. It was below freezing at kick and got colder. Froze my azz off and so did she on those cold aluminum seats and concrete. The game was never in doubt either...so nobody was standing up or moving around. Hunkered down and froze our azzes all the way off man. It was miserable honestly, but we won so that was cool. I know much better how to properly layer clothing etc...but if its windy this Toilet Bowl game could be miserable. Would definitely take at least a pint of whiskey in just for myself.

Pics of her ass before and after the game to verify it froze off or it didnt happen....

Garage door torsion spring replaced. No damage to me, tools, others, or home. Today was a good day.

Yessir. This was my third time messing with a garage door torsion spring. I respect the energy those things contain.

Yessir. Have installed several and they can literally kill you. Glad you're OK. 2 things I have installed dozens of that I hate like the Flarda gators? Garage door openers and ceiling fans. Have done both many, many times and hated them all. In both cases, the expensive ones are usually not bad to install quickly and have running perfectly...in both cases people usually buy the cheap models and they are a pain in the azz because they're poorly made.

Ceiling fans I don't mind too much. Son and i replaced the opener on the garage door a couple years ago. Straightforward because the bracing and electrical was already in place.

Replaced an outlet 2 weeks ago. Wrongly assume the circuit was off. Breaker was off but that particular outlet on a different one. Shocked!. Fortunately used insulated tools but a spot was worn through and it bit me.

I replaced our garage doors a while back but they have the long springs.

I have lived here 27 years and there is one three-way switch that is wired incorrectly and i am finally going to try and figure out what is wrong. So if I dont post again that may be why in the finest @NorthDallas40 tradition.

Switch A is up (on)... Switch B wont turn it off up or down
Switch A is down (off)... Switch B will turn on when up
Switch B is up (on)... Switch A wont turn it off up or down

Both are 3-way switches

All of the other 3-way lights are correct.... like 8 rooms + hallways

I learned to wire 3 way switches and the more complicated wiring by buying a book at Lowes. They had several, i flipped through them and found which one i liked best and purchased it because i needed to rewire my whole house too. It was money well spent. Anytime you have 2 or more switches controlling the same fixture(s) things can get complicated. Adding regular switches and outlets is really easy but everyone i know that does much electrical work (including me) has been shocked at least once. I have been lit up several times, and it can surely kill you. You folks be careful out there...use a tester before you start working on something even if you think the breaker or switch controlling it is OFF. I have come close to checking out early a couple times over the years and its no fun.

I asked Chat GPT to write a poem for tomorrow's game. Gave it a few parameters. This is what it came up with.

Twas the Night Before the Playoff
(Another Tennessee Vols Anthem):
Twas the night before the game, and the field was all set,
The Buckeyes were nervous, their hearts filled with regret.
For tomorrow’s the day, the Vols will arise,
With Heupel at the helm, they’ll claim the prize.
The stadium’s buzzing, the air filled with frost,
But Tennessee’s ready, no matter the cost.
The Vols' defense, a hammer, relentless and bold,
Will crush Ohio States hopes and dreams in the cold.
Nico's arm, like a rocket, He do what He do,
Bang, from downtown! 75 yards to Bru.
Sampson on the ground and Nico through the air,
The Vols will strike fast, with no time to spare.
The Buckeyes will tremble, their knees start to quake,
As Vols fans get loud and the stadium shakes.
The hits would come hard, they’ll feel every blow,
As the Vols just smile, they ready to go.
Pearce off the edge, Boo through the gaps,
Blitz Blitz Blitz on every 3rd down snap.
With every tackle, and with every score,
Ohio State will wonder what they came here for.
The Buckeyes can try, but they’ll never be ready,
It don’t F'ing matter, VOLS BY FIDDY!!!!!

Talked to a guy in Franklin today, him and his friends (don’t knowhow many) chartered a party bus. His prediction was 1/2 the stadium being Vol fans.
