Official Gramps' Memorial Eternal OT Thread

Our cabin attendant had been great. Quite little dude, but utterly efficient. Even "repaired" the towel animal collection we had (even though we weren't "collecting" them this week) for the final day at sea.

He got tipped up front and it showed. And got the rest this morning.

I have worked with my hands for my entire life. Am probably as talented as most in that regard...i cant hear perfect pitch though, nor read sheet music, and cant just hear something once then play it etc. 1 of my little sisters can hear a song on the radio in the car on the way home from suppet etc...then sit down at the piano or keyboard and play it like she wrote it herself. Its amazing man. Thats a gift from God, not learned behavior. Wish I had picked it up when I was young. Probably would have played bass though...I like anything with a funky bassline. Lmao.

I'm pretty tone def and can still shred. There are different ways for different people to learn. It's more arithmetic for me and coding arrangements in my head.

This is a start, and is most certainly subject to change. I need to get a better read on some of you, so hold tight.

gcb - The Sodom and Gomorrah Show
Hog - You Only Tell Me You Love Me When You're Drunk
Marcus - Pandemonium
Grand - The Way It Used to Be
McDad - Flamboyant
Dink - It's a Sin
Louder - Left to My Own Devices
ND40 - How Can You Expect to Be Taken Seriously?
VolinBham - Love Is a Bourgeois Construct
Weezer - So Hard
LG - This Must Be the Place I Waited Years to Leave

UT Athletics 5 years ago - I Don't Know What You Want But I Can't Give It Any More

Great job. There was an early 50s hit titled "It's No Sin". That might fit more with Dink's line of thought.

Funny you posted that while I was typing my usual long post. Animals is a great album. Surprised both of yall like Meddle that much too. Yall are definitely not "casual" PF guys either. Wish I could actually play like you can , OB. Dont have musical talent though. Dink has good taste in music, and its clearly an important part of his life. I can always count on him to turn me on to stuff I havent heard before. Getting old sucks.
Music clearly isn't important to me. Can you not see how I've desecrated the virtuoso in my avi?

it is just math ie steps and half steps, chord formations and A-G#..only 12 notes in western diatonic music. The fingerboard is what makes it look daunting to the unititiated.

If you wanna see some music nerd stuff.... read up on and listen to King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard's album, Flying Microtonal Banana (I know... it's all an obnoxious mouthful), but they retrofitted all their guitars for it. It's pretty cool.

Peep the fret boards. This album is all over the place but still very unique.

PS Billabong Valley is the best one in that session.

Aside from our game, I really hope the cows get gored by the hogs. Something like a Warthog (A-10 version) mowing down a herd of cattle. As usual, big10 contenders play pretenders, so not much hope of any major developments there.

As for GA, I'm clueless about the outcome. Good things could happen, but history says that nothing good comes from playing GA at GA lately. If Beck starts throwing the ball our way, it could be fun.

I pretty much hear influences from 60s psychadelic, grunge, 80s techno and 90s music..they have their own style, which in this day is quite an achievement,

Traffic from Knoxville to Chattanooga sucked out loud.
I used to have a sales terrotory in Knoxville, with Morristown basically the center, and lived in Chatt. Drove up there 3-5 days a week for two years..think I was on track for 70k miles that last year..it freaking sucked, but by golly I knew every bump in every highway.

I love all kinds of music. I was a band kid, so I learned to appreciate music in general.

But y'all need to listen to some Sam Cooke and Otis Redding.
