Could this be a hold-up in the deal? I wouldn't want to offer coach-in-waiting to someone without head coaching experience or at least getting comfortable with them over a period of several years on staff. I don't think Tee is even a slam dunk at OC, and I'm a fan of his.

Me too.Give me Kendall Briles all day

when the "up and comer" is hired what will VN do?

I have had it. It is good. But not worth what you have to pay for it. Give me Blantons, Buffalo Trade, Eagle Rade, Elijah Craig all day.

Buffalo Trace is my daily sipper but I think Pappy is worth every dime.

I guess this is where my opinion differs from many. I can't imagine Gruden lobbying to have Tee as his OC to the point that it could spoil the deal. Surely he is aware of better choices for OC.

I am 100% all in on Gruden because there is really no other coach that comes close imo. We need to get this right this time or it is over for Tennessee football and any hope of being relevant for a long time.

Agree, Tee might be great to have, but you don't sink the deal over him.

Hawk, I'm waiting to hear from the NG.

Talked to a retired F-16 pilot and got some info. I already knew I was too old to pursue the Air Force or Navy, but I got some direction from him. This Army Reserve kid I talked to was condescending, and led on like an 18 year old kid is more adequate than a college grad in his 30s... yeah, okay. Turned me off. I get they seek the youngins, but knowledge, wisdom and age are hard to neglect, at least in my opinion.

I know you're partial to the Blackhawk, but what are your thoughts on the Apache and Chinook?

It's all about what mission and one you like. If you want to shoot sh** be an Apache driver. Don't let someone else steer you away. Call or go into the place you would be working and talk to them. Get a feel for that group of people that you will be working with and maybe deploying with. Fastest route hands down will be WOCS and you will fly more. Go OCS and you WILL end up pushing a lot of paper when you end up in operations at some point.

Also being a military trained pilot is what opened up the door to the airlines for me a lot faster and easier than if I was civilian trained. We can talk more about that later if you're interested

2012 was trash. Left at the alter but I refuse to buy in to hyams, CBS, or any of the Twitter parade (whom say damn near anything to get a retreat or follow). It's 2017 not 2012, I don't give a rats puke when someone says confirmed, %100, or any of that trash. Learn to speak/type directly with confidence directly or in directly. Not a word from Gruden (except "hear Hubbard you're going to Knoxville. Gotta keep playing that song man, love that song, ROCKY TOP"). I'm not in the know, nor do I wanna be but by God we still have a game to win tomorrow and my gut tells me this **** is gonna happen. Nothing makes a bet of damn sense. Grude on volnation, I love you guys, always have been lurking/posting for 10 years or more and I swear to God I'd drink a cold one right now with any of you but stay the course. The hill will rise once again. Grude night!

I wish I could be as well liked and popular around here as you are GV. But rather I am just the guy standing in the corner of the room hoping no one spills their drink on me.

Popular? Nah, just me. Not everyone is always happy to see me. Just ask the folks in the Mullen thread.

Though my dog is always happy to see me. I once did an experiment where I locked my dog and my wife in the closet for three hours. The dog was extremely happy to see me after I opened the door.

“I didn’t hear no bell” means the fight isn’t over. In the context of Rocky V, it’s when Tommy Gunn thinks he’s defeated Balboa in a street fight. Yet, Balboa gets up, because he “didn’t hear no bell” and proceeds to beat the daylights out of Gunn.

In regards to Gruden, Wallace had painted a narrative over the last 24 hours that UT was trying, the ball was in Grudens court, but we shouldn’t be too upset as fans if we don’t land him because at least we tried. He framed several statements with “they fought the good fight” in a way that seemed like it wouldn’t ultimately happen. This Balboa meme, coming tonight - after a relatively depressing news cycle from last night through this afternoon, seems relevant. Especially after social media is very much hinting that something may have happened in the last few hours.

This has been signed for a few days IMO..the narrative needs controlled. Remember Trey isn't putting out anything without his sources approving. Meanwhile Hyams is putting out what his are dictating he puts out. See the difference.

Question for all you ladies and gentlemen that were here in 2012....do y’all remember that one guy that showed up in this thread from another country? He said he didn’t really understand football but he had come to Knoxville for a visit and instantly became a UT fan? We had to explain football to him, running through that T, etc. lol super cool dood.

Just had a flashback and was wondering if any of you recall him too??

I remember - was he from England or maybe from Germany? He was a great guy! Someone sent him some Tennessee swag as I recall.
