This! This! This! Announcement is not on OUR timetable. It's on JG's and Currie's. Both are image conscious, and JG especially has empathy for those guys finishing out their stints here. FFCA ring a bell?

Something I thought of that I dont know if it has been brought up on here, but its about the time crunch of putting a staff together. Normally with a coaching hire you are getting a guy that has a whole staff that he has built over years. They might make some changes, but not many. Then you have a coach coming from an assistants job, he has guys he has worked with, or has contacts. We are a fanbase demanding a coach that has not coached in a decade, and we want him to have all the coaches and auxiliary staff for a major D1 program, in days. On top of not coaching for 10yrs, most of his contacts are NFL people. All we are expecting is for him to come in and compete for the East in year one. I understand he has been aware of this longer than we know, but we really dont know how long. I think we need to be patient if this is the guy we want. Just something to think about when we demand instant answers. GO VOLS!!

I think it’s going to be closer to Gruden 47 at this point. Sunday/ Monday after Vandy game is what I’m rolling with.

Not talking about true/false but the idea of stringing the announcement along for the players is horses***. The fanbase is in chaos mode and the players don't know whose hands their futures are in. An announcement kills both of those and finishes this season out on the highest note those players have known at UT.

It’s simple man, they want the fans to be concentrated on supporting the team. If announced before the Vandy game everyone including the announcers at the game will be doing nothing but talking about Gruden, next year, etc etc. it would look and feel like everyone has forgotten about the team and the staff that’s still working hard to compete.

I want an announcement just as bad as everyone, but it isn’t probably the best solution right now. If indeed he’s accepted then another week will truly not make any difference if we are just being honest.

It would be like why tell your girlfriend you have a replacement for her right before the breakup sex, it’ll ruin the last time.

5 days. That's all it's been. Nobody is being strung along, despite the fact we've been at this for 6 weeks.

Wait....Boro are you actually confirming Gruden was at Cherokee last night or are you trolling for once lol? You have refrained from commenting on the coaching search this whole time, so hard to tell.
