Great news when you consider how negative he can be

He isn’t negative. He is realistic and quite frankly he is generally right. Let me see if I have this straight: there may or may not have been a gag order placed on the details, Currie is not letting any information out yet Orange Pill and Beaver know all the details of said contract? This whole thing has legit written all over it

So we should keep our thoughts to ourselves?

The whole coaching a bowl game comment ruins the rest of the post for me as well.

And I sure as heck hope there is no truth in Tee getting in writing he is the HC in waiting.

I would make such a guarantee if certain performance-based conditions were met with the program (certain number of national or conference championships achieved, meeting/exceeding an agreed winning percentage in conference, etc.).

If there is one scenario where I would consider bringing someone without head coaching experience for the job, then it is one where a legend steps down and you want to keep things going strong with the next in charge within the program.

If Gruden kills it like a Devaney, an Alexander, or an Engle, then it would make some sense to maintain continuity with an Osborne, a Dodd, or a Paterno.

But even if you were to put such a guarantee in writing, there would be nothing there preventing Martin from taking a quality opportunity and leaving Tennessee.

A P-5 could come in for him, like UF did for Muschamp at Texas, and then the guarantee is void.

Considering Martin's ability as a coordinator and recruiter, it might be a guarantee worth making as he would not be around long enough to accept it.

OrangePill is trolling. It is impressive--but here's one giveaway: "Controlled leaks to begin on 11/20." What kind of BS is that? First, I doubt the subject of controlled leaks would come up in talks with anybody--but if it did, let's say, who would actually be privy to that much detail? Who would be privy to even half of the detail in his/her post? Would a single board member be told all that while talks are in progress--and remember all that? No--and no. Far too much detail--that is the giveaway. Troll.

My thoughts exactly...just too lazy to type it all out. LOL

Hang on...I’m not defending anyone, but let me say this. I work with some humongous executives on an international level in video production. I have somehow been welcomed into their lives like family and I promise you, controlled leaks are real and an extremely common practice in business marketing and leverage at many many levels.
