I know you are a smart person because you have an engineering degree. But you are very naïve when it comes to legal issues.

Thank you for your concern about my ability to understand legal issues. You would likely be very surprised at how well versed I am on those topics.

Was it said that Gruden is flying into Seattle today? As such, considering I am stationed right outside Seattle with the navy, is it my VFL duty to go wait at the Seattle Airport and get eyes on him?

Make sure you munch on Wendy’s, and stand by the chain linked fence for crying out loud.

SFD, it is true that the client could authorize what this guy said. However, he could still easily be reported to the bar, and the firm would have to raise that defense after an inquiry from the bar.

It's too complicated and potentially hazardous to leak info this way, IMO. If I was the supervising partner, I would beg my client to let me leak info in some way that doesn't call my firm's credibility into question.

Take a risk versus reward approach to this. What are the risks of a lawyer leaking information? What is there to gain? The risks far outweigh any tangible reward.

And that doesn't even address the possibility that there is a confidentiality agreement where both sides have agreed to keep the negotiations quiet. I cannot see any plausible scenario where this associate can defend themself.

It's hilarious how this thread has morphed during this coaching search as if it were written by Tom Clancy then Ian Fleming and now John Grisham. It's what makes it great and keeps me coming back!

The attorneys could be a smokescreen, hid under the guise of no provable affiliations with the story/narrative.

Just playing both sides of the ball.....

I'm a law student who has taken ethics. If that poster on VQ is a lawyer, then he is guilty of a very serious violation of the TN ethics rules. I highly doubt any attorney would jeopardize their career to post on a college football message board.

Lol. Lawyers and ethics. Mmmmkay

I don't see an Attorney instructing another Attorney to break their oath and break the client privilege.

What if it's under instruction from the client?

No violation of ethics rules then, right?

Not saying that's what's happening here, not at all, just clarifying.

Almost all of them are flying blind right now. They have no solid information, and certainly not confirmable information.

So, the legitimate guys report nothing, because there is no flow of information and they have nothing factual to report.

However, the other guys are more than happy to report every rumor they hear. And that is why you get Swain changing every hour. He hears a different rumor, and he puts it out there.

The guys in the first group are real journalists. Those in the second group have a different agenda.

You can get a feel for those real journalist too.

You didn't hear anything from Hargis until recently and then he lowered the boom.

The rest have been spouting opinion and rumor as fact for weeks.
