I just can't imagine making a push at Gruden for $10M and then the next names on the list are Mullen and Norvell.

If you put it out there, you'd have everyone besides Saban jumping to come here and wouldn't have to settle Mullen.

If not for the obvious ties, Gruden would have never been a serious candidate. It would be like us pursuing Bill Cowher.

So, given that special set of circumstances, you can rest assured that there will be a significant step down to any potential secondary candidate. No one else we would realistically interview would sniff anywhere near the reported $10+ million we were offering JG.

If Gruden was never in people's minds, a lot of those hollering about possible candidates like Mullen, Norvell, Jimbo Fisher, Jeff Brohm, etc. would consider ourselves fortunate to pull some of them.

It's all about perspective I guess. It is also what troubles me if Gruden tells us no. Some people are so invested in that idea that anything else won't be acceptable in their mind. I am not certain Gruden is the best candidate, but he would certainly be the best candidate to unify the fanbase.
