Yeah, precisely, Rev. Their military is actually pretty solid, or at least they were when I was there. They may have sucked in the Franco-Prussian War, and WW II, but they also came up with Napoleon. Not nearly as bad as their rep. And most French officers I met would agree with you 100%; it's the political class that are the problem.

You’ll be like out there by some wind swept airport all by yourself. Sitting on the hood, drinking whiskey...your like gonna hear a planes engine whining and you’ll look and see a small, unmarked Cessna coming in for a landing, half sideways, getting blown all over the place, then a Shelby GT500 Mustang will pull up in the parking lot. Suddenly, a man hops out of the Cessna, you’ll hear him yell “hell yeah! Have a good one brother!” And as he walks towards you, in a dim street lamp, you’ll see his face....it’s Jon Gruden....he locks eyes with you, walks up, takes a swig out of your whiskey bottle, hands it back to you, as the black tinted window of the GT500 rolls down and you see John Currie staring out at Gruden, he says “you want to be the head coach or hang out with this guy all night?” Jon Gruden looks dead at your and says “no one will ever believe you...” then winks at you, smiles and keeps walking and jumps into the GT500 and they burn rubber all the way out of the parking lot. The rest is history.


That’s how stuff usually works. Haha.

Do not take this with a grain of salt! I am a life long Vol fan and long time member here on VN. Gruden is coming. I know because I am witnessing it with my own eyes. He is in a cage in the back of my pickup truck. I just crossed over the GA line heading north. Should be in Knoxville by 8pm. No make that 9pm....must stop and eat at Waffle House. For a 53 year old he is fairly strong but I managed to wrestle him down. Driving a bright orange 78 Chevy and headed up 95 to 26 then 40 on to the city. Please join in with the caravan.

if this whole sudden shift from Grugasm on wednesday to defeatist invasion from the media thursday is in deed a diversion to keep a lid on things until all parties are ready to announce (which I think it is), I hope they see the absolute bashing the name of the university is taking in social media.

Although I know all will be forgiven if Gruden is hired, I would like to think that this might change the timetable just to prevent the PR disaster that is chipping away at the university right now.

I believe it will be gruden but perhaps....SOONER!

Exactly. Read about the French-Algerian War to see the problems start with the political class. All French Officers I have met were as professional as could be.
