Is there any real evidence out there that we are in negotiations with JG and that he's listening? I would bust a nizzut if we hired him, but I would really know that me hoping has some merit.

Im rooting for players like Herm, a cancer survivor among other things, Hunter who is back after an Acl, Magitt who is playing through terrible pain, and all the players who are working their asses off while some of us are wishing they do poorly so we can get some mythical coach who has a below avg winning pct and has been out of coaching for years. My career took me to Arkansas for a while. You have to know how nuts they are. I can't guarantee UT gets Gruden but I firmly believe Arkansas and calling the hogs is not the job he has been waiting for.

It's been posted here earlier how some Arky posters think they hired Gruden in April.

I just looked it up and read that John L. Smith was announced as the interim coach on April 23. So, they're basically saying they hired Smith as the interim and then secured Gruden within the next week. That is the most ridiculous coaching-search rumor I have ever read. As OV said, if they could get Gruden, there'd be no reason to bring in Smith.

Regarding the rumor in the same thread that they signed with Gruden in the past few weeks, my first response is to ask which of the two rumors their insiders are going with? Secondly, as has been posted here many times, there's no reason for them to wait to announce Gruden. LOL at the suggestion that they have been redesigning his new office but are still waiting to announce him until the end of the regular season.

I haven't met any of the people posting the Gruden/UT info on here, so to me, this thread could turn out to be nothing but fantasy land. But, the Arky rumors don't even make sense. It's worth noting that nobody is discussing Gruden to Arky but them.

Rule of thumb to follow that will save your sanity:

97% of the time when someone says something of this magnitude is a 100% lock on a message board, it's a crock of feces.

No joke. Of all SEC teams, I am really glad I didn't end up an Arky fan. Their mascot is a pig. Their fans wear pigs on their heads. Their #1 cheer is to yell "pig souuieee" or whatever. If they enjoy all of that, then good for them. But dang, that is not for me. Too embarrassing.

Late night post, I think Hogville took down the Gruden thread, i don't see it up anymore... weird...



Fwiw, the guy that's calling Gru to Ark 100% is having a tag bet with some guy saying Gru isn't going to Ark. He is guaranteeing he will win (Gruden will be next coach at Ark.).

I really hope we hire Gruden to see that board go into full scale meltdown.:devilsmoke:

It's still there but is in the "trash can" all the way to the bottom along with another Gruden thread.

The thread on tag lines is funny though.
