I gotcha. I dont think we are in disagreement here, if I understand correctly. I think they make the change,and I dont think the buyout is the factor, my point was that I dont get why they gave him a contract with a huge buyout when there was nothing to go on at that point. It seems UT would have the leverage there in contract negotiations, but I truly dont know, am not connected, am not a millionaire businessman, etc, etc. I am just a common dude on message board at 1 a.m. that is hoping his football team gets what it deserves, which is strong leadership

I really think their prime motivation at the time was to bring back some sense of stability, on and off the field, to the program. Dooley was probably the best man for that task at the time.
