Money talks.

Money only talks to those that don't have it. Besides even at $5,000,000 a year it a pay cut on a per hour rate. He would be doing more work for less money in the long run. If you have a good job and someone offers you a couple of grand more a year and you see you would be working longer hours and more days would you take it?

Doubt Brando came here to see. Definitely a flunkie staffer/researcher. The researchers know where to go to get the pulse of the fanbase and see what rumors are circulating. In this high tech age, just go to message boards of the team you are researching. You get a fairly accurate representation of the pulse of the fanbase.

I agree with him. I can't figure out what would make him want the job . . . but at least he has decent taste in websites.

I'd normally agree, but the info is coming from multiple sources. Ainge even hinted at it this morning. I do think this could happen.

Is it so hard to fathom he wants to coach? Hell, I would think he would do it for free, but he knows the market. Actually, he even coached his sons high school team. Go figure, its in his blood.

I never worried about money for the buyout, if they want him gone they'll pay it. I just don't understand why it's such a large buyout.

Its called the Lane Kiffin Clause. They wanted to make sure Dooley wouldnt up and leave after kne season so they made his buyout high so he'd have to pay alot to leave. In return theybpromised to pay one million dollars more than his buyout if they were to want to cut him before his contract ended.
So say he wanted to leave hed have to pay 4 million (just example) that same year his buyout is worth 4 mil if Tenn wanted to can him they would pay 5 mil.

We are talking about Jon Gruden here, the guy lives and breaths football. He has stated he wants to coach again, in the right situation. The question is, is he really happy doing MNF?

Do you think if ESPN offered Saban $10 million a year to be an analyst, he would take it because it's an "easier" job?

No. He wants to coach. Gruden wants to coach. And he's going to coach again--whether it's at UT or in the NFL. The ease of his current job has nothing to do with that.

Unless you make millions a year I imagine its hard for anyone to say what Gruden or anyone else would do.

All you and I can do is speculate on what we would do.

Everybody is different, and while money is at the front of line its not the only thing that makes a decision.

Sometimes people will choose a career simply because that's what they want to do.

Brother Vol, what's seems to be happening is happening very fast. As LittleDTO said, soon, very soon. Sorry that we can't go into great detail, but if what is being said is absolutely true, it won't be long.
