No one else will be considered until Gruden says a definitive yes or no is what I am hearing. Not one person I know in the program or "friends" of the program are of the opinion Dooley coaches next year though regardless.
Like I said last night I got more excited than ever in regards to Gruden specifically. Dooley firing chatter has been around since last year, anyone that knows anyone has heard it. After the MSU game it went from chatter to full blown reality. Dooley is gone barring some crazy upsets both of the next two weeks. Finding extraterrestrial life is more likely. But as I said I had an opportunity to go to dinner with some business associated that are also very tied in and I assure you the push to bring Gruden to Tennessee is on in a very real way. One is a member if a group of more than a dozen big donors that are willing to put up the money for buyouts and for the hire if they can make it happen.
No I do not imagine Hart had talked to Gruden directly, but he has talked to Dooley directly and Dooley knows what is up. Hart cannot directly negotiate with Gruden until he handles Dooley and a LOT of details get worked out. It is not done, not saying "book it" as BV said, but until the events the last few days I was done with Dooley and "cautiously optimistic" about Gruden but this thing is further along than I had ever imagined. Like I said last night is the first time anyone that I know with power or money to affect this decision specifically said Grudens name but it was the talk of the table once it was said! So excited, hope they can close the deal!
