OK I guess I can come on and eat some crow today. I was told directly friday night and saturday morning that they would not be firing Dools and he would be back next season unless they could get Gruden and at the time they didnt think it was that high of a %. Ok after all the crap saturday night and that little meeting in the box has convinced everyone. There has been feelers out and I will agree that ther has always been a feeling if you could get a Gruden they would do it no matter what Dools record was the rest of the season. I will give the insiders credit that this thing is getting pretty dang hot. Timeline like Mboro Vol has said is not completely set, could be anytime or up to end of December.

Someone mentioned it earlier and I've not seen it addressed.

I wonder if MNF would cause any announcement to be pushed back a day in order to prevent any kind of distraction after it's announced that Dooley has been canned. Everyone and their grandmother knows that Gruden is target #1 at this point. Announcing today might cause some hooraw prior to the broadcast tonight.

Jay, you being this history guy. Did you know that Rommel traveled to Tennessee to study the tactics of Francis Marion and also Nathan B Forrest.

See, there is always a Tennessee connection.

I understand the timeline, but if by some miracle we pull the upset Sat, it would make for an awkward firing and the sunshine pumpers would be out in force. I don't like risking it.

Actually, no. Makes sense though.

I will look into that. WWII and Civil War are in my wheelhouse. Always willing to learn. Much appreciated.

I haven't heard anything different from the timeline I was told. Again things can change. There obviously was a rumor a public dismissal would happen today.
