OK, first of all.... the whole bit about Haslam and other donors is just speculative talk. Where is the proof?
Second, please go back over the last few years and look at all the other times Jon Gruden has hinted that he might be interested in this job or that one. Has he taken any of them?
Third, Mike Hamilton was one of the greatest fund raisers ever at UT. He could bring in the cash, so I find it hard to believe that he cheaped out. I think the reality was that he went down his list of candidates and they all said.... thanks but no thanks. Then at the last second on the advise of Nick Saban, he found Dooley hanging out in Louisiana and he said "Hey Kid, want to come coach UT? Here's a lolipop."
Seriously people. Gruden's name comes up for any and all coaching jobs in the NFL and NCAA. Why in God's name would he come to Tennessee when he's making 4 million a year doing nothing for ESPN? Hasnt Gruden rejected Tennessee twice? And that was when the program was in better shape than it is now!
There is simply no way Gruden would come here. Even if we offered him 5 million a year (money that I'm pretty sure Tennessee doesnt have).
Dooley will not be fired after the USC game.
I come to these boards for legitimate news, not for some fan-boy day dreaming.
Get real.

SIAP and pre-apologies to DTO and Jay for posting in their thread and in no way am I trying to take credit for anything and I do not want e-cred and let me know if I have forgotten anything because I disclaim that too...but here's the word I just received: Lamonte has been in touch with Hart today regarding some of the terms of the deal and discussing salary pool for assistants. Hart is "negotiating" but will give Gruden whatever he wants/needs.
Mike Hamilton is a turd. Sorry to insult you.

FIRST OFF, no one in their right mind as a UT fan would ask Saban for or take his advice (btw that is how you spell advice not advise)
Second, there is documented evidence, articles, and reports of how much Hamilton offered certain coaches, if you did your research, you would know he cheaped out.
Third, there is too much smoke and heresay for something not to be going on. According to ESPN, (which is a pretty reliable source in case you are new to sources) said on the insider that Gruden is interested in the Tennessee job.
Other people like Kirk Herbstreit have said if Gruden goes back into coaching he believes he'd go to college and go to Tennessee. If you go through the thread and read, there are sources.k:
