Just found Gruden quotes from April that I had never saw. I'm probably the only one :)

"It was great to be back. My wife and I are here this weekend. My wife went to Tennessee and cheered at Tennessee while I was a GA and we got to re-unite with Coach Majors and have some dinner. We were just reminiscing and talking about what Tennessee is all about and just the great impact Coach Majors has had on me. It was great to meet some of the (Tennessee) players, just a great couple days."

Q: Do you ever see yourself coaching again?

A: "I love football, I'm guilty of that. So, yeah at some point will probably come back and coach if I get the right opportunity."

Q: How did today go?

A: "We studied for four or five hours this afternoon. Sal Sunseri and I coached together at Pitt, so I've known him a long time. We're just trying to get 'em back to where Tennessee football is supposed to be. And since I love Tennessee and my wife's from Tennessee it's a great opportunity whenever I can come back and if I can help hopefully I did. Just to be a part of it again was exciting."

Q: Do you see yourself as a pro coach at this point in your career?

A: "I coached high school this last year. I coached my son's high school offensive line this past year. I coach anybody.... Right now I don't put much thought into that. A coach can coach, whether it be high school, the pros, or college."

Q: You talked a little bit at the clinic about Coach Dooley's orange pants. What was your reaction to Coach Dooley's orange pants and are you ever going to wear any of those?

A: "I saw Coach Battle and Coach Majors wearing those. But those look like loudmouth gear, a little too flashy for me. If you love Tennessee you wear any kind of orange you want."

Reasons why Gruden would be a great hire

1.All time NFL record 95-81. Winning record, automatic upgrade

2.Has won a super bowl

3.Has been getting a lot of TV facetime, and is highly recognizable. Great for recruiting

4.Has probably made some friends at ESPN and I bet Tennessee would get a LOT of positive coverage from ESPN

5. 5-4 playoff record-Good with big game

6.Has been a pro coach and can sell that to recruits

7.He was an assistant coach at the University of Tennessee from 1986-1987

8. Been offered jobs at many other prestigious schools and we would be lucky to have him (Oregon, Miami, Louisville)

9.He is well connected

10.He has worked with several great coaches

11.Gruden host several highly popular quarterback camps. He would get his choice at quarterback.

12. The charisma he has is amazing

13. He is 1-0 against Saban (not including preseason)

discuss...

Reasons why Jon Gruden will not coach at U.T.

(1) He is the leading announcer of Monday Night Football and essentially works 17 days per year.

(2) The popularity and pay at Monday Night Football is more than at U.T.

(3) Jon Gruden is responsible for his family and is not stressed. At U.T. he would be responsible for the entire football program, to include players and staff. Much added stress...

(4) He can't win National Championships at U.T. on a regular basis due to the yearly schedule of Alabama, USC, Florida, UGA. To include LSU on a rotating basis. Schedule is too difficult for him to win National Championships, Maybe one National Championship but not multiple.

(5) His wife likes the big city life and she doesn't want to move to Knoxvile Tennessee.

This statement does no discredit my hypothesis. These bands suck. If Travis Barker and Joey Jordison both had arms that fell off, those bands would still suck. My point is valid.

You worded it poorly then because your point came off as, if a drummer loses an arm and it doesn't affect the music, the band obviously sucks. If Joey Jordison and Travis Barker's arms fell off, Slipknot and Blink 182's music would change completely so I just assumed that being the best drummers in the world, their bands must be good. That's how you said it.
