I will just say this and then call it a night. I realize that in the grand scheme it means nothing, but if Dooley is coaching here next season I will not spend another dime on anything Tennessee. I will pull for my team from my couch. I will not drive six hours and drop money on tickets or a hotel room. The absolute crap that Dooley displays is an embarrassment and not worth it. If Dooley returns it sends a clear message that the powers that be at UT do not give a rats ass about winning. Anyone that hopes for this just so they can come on a message board and crow about being right is a loser P.O.S.
With that, I bid you all a goodnight.

Couldn't agree with you more. Great post.

"Gruden is #1, #2, #3 and #4 on UT's list of coaches. They are even involving Peyton Manning in this. They are courting him on many fronts." "I am hearing they may let Dooley dangle in the wind and try to have a coach in place because they want the deal done first." UT has no one else on their WISH LIST at this time" Tony B.
This lines up with everything I was told....over a week ago

Basilio knew it when I did, but has only recently been turned loose to talk about it.

The decision hasn't been made. Quit waiting for an announcement. There won't be a decision until Monday at the earliest.

If the decision hasn't been made, then Hart would be compeled to make some type of public announcement in support of Dooley.

When all the local news reports, and radio talk shows are hinting every day that Dooley could be fired, the Admin would want to stop the rumors (for many reasons) if untrue. The fact he has said nothing, screams that he is done. :hi:

Yeah, I thought he knew something. Also, he says he is impressed with how hard UT is going after Gruden. That the money people are humiliated at what has become of UT football. Also, don't sweat Dooley having any chance of coming back as you said here Boro and a few others.

A lot of money people want Dooley gone now but looks like the decision has been made to get Gruden on the hook first according to Tony B.

you know, i am reading all the boards and reading articles on this and I am getting really concerned. I am concerned that T will only look at the money involved and give this guy more time. I hope the AD knows that in the long run it will hurt T financially since Football supports all other sports at the school, just the nature of the business. But will everyone be OK with basically starting over and potentially having 2 more losing seasons? I just want them to be back in the hunt and contenders on a national scale year after year again!

The deal is said to perhaps be even bigger than Sabans. Don't sweat it.

You know you are too invested when you dream about a coaching search...especially before we've even fired the current guy.
I had a dream that news broke all over twitter that Haslam had come to an agreement with Jon Gruden. After embarrassing celebrations, it was revealed that the deal was for CJG to coach in Cleveland.
Sorry to post about my dream (I hate when people do that), but my point is that I really need to step back from this. Maybe I should actually work today.

I'm beginning to think the absolute earliest we'll hear about Dooley will be Monday. He was given the option to exit on his terms, so he may coach it out.....but I doubt it. Internal strife seems to be the holdup on the Dooley announcement.

Again Boro that is the same as Tony B. is hearing. Many money people wanting it done now and Hart wanting it locked down. As you have said there is no "saving Dooley's job" now. All about timing. Ahhhhh, I am more relaxed than I have been in days.

Reading that article was like reading a synopsis of what Boro, Jay and the guys have been trying to tell us for the past weeks.

...and to quote the great Ric Flair for any trolls out there...you don't have to like the info you are getting here...you just have to learn to live with it.

DTO, myself, and others mentioned a timeline last week. It's all fluid, but there is a structure to what is going on. It's proceeding apace so as to not make anyone look bad publicly.

If Dooley stays the rest of this season, we need to have Gruden hired so his coaches can hit the recruiting trail via Ohio State and Urban Myer
