I am.

And re: the Shannon signing/unsigning--I think there are enough people on here who knew it was happening and fell apart. It happened, no need to bring it back up, but Shannon was two seconds away from being the DC last year. That much has been confirmed.

I'm just passing along information again that I was told. Again by someone that SHOULD know specifics and I trust him.

Also confirmed what OCI said, that they have been in contact since before the MSU game. Alabama was obviously the tipping point.

It wouldn't be wise to get our hopes up. After what this fan base has been through the last 4 years . But I still can't help but hitting refresh.

that's a lot of green, I honestly feel Coach Gruden will be a home run hire though, glad to see they pulled out the checkbook when needed, if this is all true of course, I'm new here I don't know who the more credible posters are

Seriously guy, you have no idea where I'm from, what I do , or who I know . Cheap seats in T? Didn't know having the same 4 box seats in T for 53 years was defined as "cheap". Let me know when gruden inks this deal.

I have no idea what you do. Never said that i did, nor do I care. However, I am 99% sure you weren't hanging out with Peyton, Thunder, and Haslam in their box.

Was just told the following:

8 Years, $50M base.

Agreed upon.

Gruden will not take any action until an action on Dooley is taken.

Dooley has been told he will not return officially as HC.

Announcement next week on Dooley.

Dooley will NOT finish out the season.

Unknown on interim status for the rest of the year.

You know I was just starting to believe this was all BS again, and you post this. My hopes back up. I am sure they will be back down and back up and back down and back up before it is all said and done. If Dooley is fired next week I will know this is true.

I've been asked this before.

With what several of us have known for nearly two weeks my answer is still 90%.

It will be an eff-up of monumental proportions if we fail to get it done.

You're insane. You're just trying to get these people riled up. More like 30%.

Wow! Any idea when Gruden may be announced?

Not in an early round but he would still get drafted and as pissed off as he's been with the fans who knows if he would leave but I think a Gruden hire would make him stay

If all of the sophomore and junior starters from this season returned to play for Gruden, that would be 13 seniors and 4 juniors. 8 of 11 starters on offense and 9 of 11 starters on defense. Granted, they haven't been the greatest this season. I blame a lot of that on the coaching though. Gruden would have a lot of experience, talent and upperclassman to work with. Even with the setback of new playbooks and schemes, 10 wins in Gruden's first season would be possible.

I think Dooley is done regardless, this is just Hart trying to give him one last shot at a signature win before we fire him. He hasn't been productive, he has restocked and reloaded us, but he has not gotten us the wins. I think the staff knows it's over, so they're going to give it all they have over the remainder of the season to try to pad their resumes for their next jobs. JMO

Doesn't squash the rumor. That could have been the initial offer and the 8/50 could be after negotiations.

That must have been quite a counter offer if the "agreed upon" total is almost twice the initial one.

I'd love to have Gruden, but I don't think our budget should be "limitless," regardless of who's paying. At some point, it turns into a situation where we may not see the return on investment...and/or the expectations will be so high that we'll be calling for HIS head in the third season.

Ironic that if the Shannon deal hadn't fallen through we probably wouldn't be doing this right now. Maybe its all working out for the best...

That's huge money. I would be willing to bet that money is total comp if true.

Either way, our big guys have stepped up.

I hope this is true, but what happens if by some miracle we beat SC this weekend(I know thats a laugh). We going to fire Dooley the week after he finally gets his "signature win" that everyone is saying he needs.

Again, I am all for a change at this point and hope this is true.

I dont disagree at all and I think the talent on this roster helps just as much as the money does in getting Gruden. It's not 2010.
