For the insiders( Boro-vol, JayVols, bcarter, DTO) Any chatter on the possibility that Dooley is let go the Monday after USC and Gruden takes over to coach the last 4 games? Could keep current coaching staff for evaluation, evalaute current players in game situations, see recruits on official visits.

I'll hang up and listen.

Fyp.

I have heard that timetable along with another. Meyer did what you are talking about with OSU.

A friend of mine is a huge Gruden lover, but doesnt believe me on anything that has been discussed today; could you possibly give me a good summation of the events of today? Would be greatly appreciated Jay:good!:

Interest on both sides. Contacts through reps have been made. Things look bright. Nothing is a done deal yet, imo.

I'm fine as a frog hair that's been split in two. The world is still rocking a bit on me when I stand still though. How 'bout you.

I'm doing well but hadn't sleep worth a damn for several nights..Things are on my mind so no complaints.:) Besides, there will be plenty of time to sleep later.

Zasnow just posted in football forum:

Everyone expect Conkley's role to increase more and more. This includes everything from personnel changes to calling plays.

Coach Dooley brought him in as a backup DC to an extent in case the current didnt go as accordingly.

Also multiple boosters (higher end for the most part) have met/talked about paying for Dooleys and maybe some assistants buyouts if things don't change. I'm not saying his job is safe but then again I'm not saying it isn't.

Dooley is Harts man but he won't stand for this and after their plane ride home from Miss St he understands that clearly now.

I can't say how I know, but I'm hearing that Gruden to UT is almost a completed deal.

I can also tell you that Johnson killed Kennedy, the moon landing was completely fabricated, and the people at Area 51 have recovered no alien corpses... The UFO that crashed in the desert was unmanned.

Not possible Dooley is good thru 2013.

I thought someone posted Gruden would get 68 mil for 7 years. Paying anywhere over 5 mil a year for him would be a huge mistake.

For the 10th time, I would love to have gruden today.
But thanks for the kind support.

Just 10? :)

Leadership lessons from Alabama football coach Nick Saban - Sep. 7, 2012

If Saban were running a company instead of a football program, he'd be hailed as an elite manager. Alabama football is big business, and it has gotten only bigger under Saban. In 2006, the year before he arrived in Tuscaloosa, the athletic department brought in $67.7 million in revenue, mostly from football, and spent $60.6 million. Last year revenue was $124.5 million and expenditures were $105.1 million -- leaving a $19.4 million profit, according to figures compiled by USA Today. During Saban's tenure, Alabama has expanded the capacity of Bryant-Denny Stadium from 92,000 to 101,000, including the addition of new luxury (i.e., more expensive) seating. It was a no-brainer for the school to give him a two-year contract extension and healthy raise earlier this year. With a compensation package that averages $5.6 million a year over the next eight years, Saban is among the highest paid coaches in college football.
