I do have to admit that I do get a little glimmer of hope when I dream that the Gruden thing really is a possibility, but then I go back to reality and decide it's best to support the team and coaches way have and stop living the pipe dream.

Competitive isn't translating to W's. First year, leading Oregon at half, leading LSU at the end of regulation and STILL lost, leading UNC until last play of reg.. Year two tied with Alabama at half. We are no more competitive now than his first year. More talented yeah, but NOT WINNING.

For the insiders(OCI, Boro-vol, JayVols, bcarter, DTO) Any chatter on the possibility that Dooley is let go the Monday after USC and Gruden takes over to coach the last 4 games? Could keep current coaching staff for evaluation, evalaute current players in game situations, see recruits on official visits.

I'll hang up and listen.

Gruden would be great, but I'm not sure why there is so much optimism here. I get the hope, buy what makes people optimistic about it happening? SBV?

SBV has posted in other threads on his optimism. I am not nor are most of us saying it's set in stone. Chances are very good though. They got even better today.

Last year we were competitive for one half in about every game. This year, with the exception of the Florida game, we have been competitive the whole game. There has been some progress.
Hey, if Gruden really would come for what we could pay him, then I would gladly trade Dooley today. I just don't think it's happening, so I don't want to spend all my energy being discontent. Do we really want to start all this mess over again, with players leaving the program and all our recruits de-committing, so we can have Kirby Smart? :no:

There would be an interim. The new coach would be recruiting players and staff. Just like Urban did last year. He would not take over this year.
