Official Jon Gruden Thread V

Well no, actually, it's because it's called the Official Jon Gruden Thread V. :)

I don't disagree with the rest of this post.

Yes, but an "Official Jon Gruden Thread" would seem to indicate discussion of everything relating to Jon Gruden rumors. I meant, the reason all rumors point to him coming, as opposed to not coming.

The people that were posting things that contradicted Gruden was "100% locked up" quit posting, because they got treated exactly like this. A bunch of pitchforks come out at even the slightest hint that Gruden would dare not come to UT.

You must be really really close to the AD to know that for sure. So, no matter what happens, he coaches through Kentucky?

What about the bowl game, if we make it to one? Has Hart, or someone else that knows for sure, told you whether or not DD coaches the bowl game?

If Dooley loses the Kentucky game, he will be fired sometime after the game...

Geez, people, stop dumping on Thrasher. You're doing exactly what he said that this thread does too many times --getting in flame wars. Maybe you don't care for his tone, but some of you do provoke it.

I like coming here for the generally positive feel, even when people disagree. I know everyone's disappointed that we're not getting any direct info from the AD, and that things might not be playing out how we want them to, but it's starting to feel like a bad disaster movie here. At any moment Shelley Winters will go into hysterics.

You're turning this thread into an FF thread.

Sorry. He seemingly is a very negative person. I have not seen anything positive from his posts. We don't "attack" anyone if they don't post smarmy things first. We know what Thrasher feels, but he comes on zlJeez, we get it already.

I agree, plus have nothing positive to add to the conversation and anything not positive is met with either completely ludicrous assertions or just by being bashed. I have lurked more since Sunday night-Monday than ever before. I have developed pretty good relationships with the guys still standing by their info to constantly post what I know to be true that is opposite what they are hearing. Not disputing their info, just sharing the drastically negative turn mine took Sunday night and early Monday AM.

With the events of the last few days I am as close to 0% as possible on the prospects of Gruden coming and am no better than 75% that Dooley will even be let go at seasons end. Thats not what anyone wants to hear, but its what I have to say.

Dooley already being fired and finishing out the season makes since. It's being kept quiet for a reason. Wheels are in motion to get the guy(Gruden) we want. They are using this time to get it right and not screw things up even worse, ala 2010. Kentucky announced Phillips is gone after the season. No reason to keep that hush cause they have no shot at the big hire for their football program. Our top boosters just couldn't take it anymore and could no longer keep their mouths or wallets shut. It's happening, believe it. No inside source just common sense.

That's perfectly fine with me. Be skeptical. It's healthy. Just don't act like you have a monopoly on common sense when doing so.

BTW, you haven't.:hi:

I'm weird. I love rumors, but I'm skeptical of all of them. This thread, if nothing else, has been entertaining.

It's like UFO reports. The idea of aliens visiting this planet is fascinating, but I just don't think it's likely at all. 99% of them are easily explainable, but there is that one percent...

And, no, I don't try to play any superiority cards. I'm just a fan who likes football (mostly UT football). In some cases, I don't think others are either. A lot gets lost in message board posts.

You lied about being an alcoholic cat that can type.....Thats not really a picture of you...admit it!

That's me. I promise.

Here's a pic of me passed out drunk last night on the keyboard after some feverish Gruden rumor posting.

Back to the related Gruden issues, when do you think we hear/see the benefits of a good outcome of this week's meetings? Immediately, it will take some time or no change will occur?

Yeah, I don't get the vitriol that's being spewed here. A 'shoot the messenger' mentality.

For the record since it always seems to get lost here, I'll state again no one wants JG at UT more than me. Seriously. The day he's hired is the day I write "F-YEAH!" in eight-foot letters on The Rock.

But when I or anyone else expresses skepticism then we shouldn't get attacked for that. Time will tell what plays out. Not one person posting here has any direct effect on what will happen, just an opinion. Don't bully someone just because they don't go along with your opinion. There's too much of that going on these days, especially with social issues (see Cathey, Dan for an example).

Big Jay Graham fan and hope he's back but its not up to him. New coach may bring in an entirely new staff.

Graham will be there. Im betting he knows Dooley is out and Gruden has already talked to him. Its been put out there Gruden has talked to several coach's and gauging their interest. There arent many better RB coaches that can coach and recruit than Jay.

Jay could have told Turman Dooley was safe as well if he had been told he was coming back but he didnt. He assured Turman he would be back and let Turman wonder about Dooley. Reading between the lines here
