Indeed. Also, good chance staff would jump ship as well if given the chance. Don't see any scenario that it makes sense to bring DD back and put off the inevitable. Could you imagine all of this speculation for another year?

This is a make or break time for the entire program IMO. I can't imagine how long it would take to recover if this guy does not leave ASAP

Yes I can and it's not good. Neyland Stadium empty like we have never seen it before, a very poor recruiting class, AD losing money like crazy. You might even see some current staff bolt if they get a decent opportunity somewhere else. It'll be the first year I've not been excited at all about UT football. Thank goodness we most likely won't have to experience it.

I really doubt Bisaccia would come here to be Special Teams coach when he is essentially coach in waiting in San Diego and will most likely be the head coach before the end of the year if not soon after.

Bisaccia has tried multiple years to get out of his nfl contract to come here. Iirc the chargers won't let him go so even if NT is fired I would guess he stays there. I would be shocked if he is anywhere but San Diego next year

yep. If DD came back, I'd guess 8 wins would be necc to keep his job, I just dont see it. This year was the best shot he had, and luck has nothing to do with it. That defense has been bad, but with that talent on offense, UT should be outscoring people even with suspect D. Texas Tech won tons of games with bad defense, many teams have. When DD's main defense is "we arent losing by as many points as we used to lose by", you know it's time to move on
