I was referring to off-shoring what used to be US jobs (see medical transcription; see interpreting flat films.)
Lots of medical jobs are being done in India now because of the time difference and the abundance of well-trained doctors who are willing to moonlight. Transcription of reports and xray interpretations on US patients are often done overnight in India (daytime there) and are waiting on US desks at 8 am the next day, courtesy of digital imaging and the internet.
Don't think they've figured how to do paramedic work remotely yet.
