You're misrepresenting what was posted. What we are saying is that the info that Ainge has been fed (re:no Guden) is tenuous at best, and he knows it.

Ainge wants Gruden as bad or worse than we do. He said a long time Gruden was coming and did a 180 very quick and outta the blue. Why? Because its also been reported Gruden doesn't want his name out there until the job is vacant because he doesn't wanna look like he helped push Dooley out. Ainge isn't gonna F that up. Having to eat crow over Gruden coming vs not coming is a good thing, everyone wins!

He's very charismatic and players, especially young ones, love him. Not to drop the race card here, i know it's shallow, but young black males (especially ones growing up without a strong father figure) can really relate to coaches like Morris (Charlie Strong).

That's great. I'm all for having position coaches that are relatable to get recruits in the doors. But, if we're talking coordinator/head coach positions, give me a guy that can coach.

I'm not saying Morris or Strong can't coach, just providing a counter argument.

He has no talent at Miami right now. But rejoice. He's way down the list.

Is it possible that the coaching search was/is going in two directions?

1. Boosters negotiating with Gruden. If they get him, he is our guy.

2. Hart is pursuing others. If #1 falls through, then Hart will make the hire.

For the record, I posted this before reading Basilio's blog. Looks like this is indeed the case. If Hart screws up Gruden, then he needs to be fired yesterday.

No, but its not like I have anything better to do. Well i could do my job at work, but thats no fun. Certainly you can see where the outsiders with no sources would be skeptical of this . All the smoke screen talk and such.
I hope it's true that we get Gruden, But it's hard to take the word of internet posters when I have no knowledge of their "inside" contacts. And thats not a call out for anyone to reveal their sources, just saying thats an outsiders view.

Ainge is doing one of two things IMO. He's been given misinformation from his sources or he is intentionally spreading the misinformation himself.

Correct. Ainge is a VFL and he doesn't want to mess this up. If he's being told that Gruden's not coming and he repeats this on the air, he's not lying even if HE doesn't believe it.
