Hope this is accurate

The story as I have laid it out is 100% accurate. It's the information itself that I wouldn't risk my life for, but since it matched what others have said I wanted to share it. One thing is for sure............we will know "soon" either way.

At this point, this is just added noise but it is a funny story.

I regularly give a token amount to the UT college of communication's scholarship fund. Yesterday (yes on a Sunday) I get my quarterly call from the University, from a cute sounding college student (yes a female) who asks if I am going give the same amount this go-round while giving me the updates on what my previous donations have gone to. Anyway, after I agreed to give my usual amount she asks "is there anything else I can do for you?" I replied "Yes, tell me who the next coach will be." Without skipping a beat she says "Gruden."

Now, I know that there is no chance that a sophomore at UT who is calling alumni in order to get donations has any insight into who the next coach will be. But, I must admit that it made me a little bit excited hearing someone officially connected with the University claim that Gruden is our next coach.

Sparty, if nothing else it'll get us to Gruden VII faster.

all i can really say is that it is a long shot, and he would be on a list of top 5 names that you would think of if you had a wish list that didn't include reality.

We are trying though. I can tell you that. With that L saturday, there is more of a team effort to get this done and to throw some haymakers in attempt to get this done prior to a drawn out search with our 8th choice.

You can't help it if people turn you down. When you are going after millionaires, a million or 2 isn't as big as it used to be and just "backing up the brinks truck" doesn't help if people don't want to coach at UT. Money isn't everything to some coaches. The right situation is more.

Sales marketing 101. Tell you what you want to hear in order to potentially secure a larger donation.... :good!:
