I understand that but if I'm fronting the bill I'm not paying the full buyout upfront. Just doesn't sound like a legit story to me.

The University will not take the chance on firing someone and owing a buyout til they know it is paid.

We will just agree to disagree. An agreement can be made for a booster to give so much money over the next 3 years. 9 million or whatever the total is, is a lot to lose the interest that can be made.
