Spindles are hard to keep consistent? Not if you take an old camera out of your print shop, remove the photo taking stuff, add a router to the camera adjusters, mount your lathe on the side of the camera, install a jig and commence to make them babies.

The first spindle I made took 2 or 3 hours. The last ones took under 5 minutes.

Absolutely if youre using a duplicator of some form, but Im talking old school freehand using calipers, parting tool, and spindle gouge...

Machinists lathes with xy axis are tha bomb...my next investment.

You are close to my dad's age (72). All my father's friends have zero clue how to use a computer. My dad computer is a $3,000 machine to play mine sweeper and solitaire.

Not quite that old yet I'm 61 and semi retiring in February. I'm a Bank Rep for an Auto Finance Co and stay on the computer 6-8 hrs a day....again I pray your wife will do just fine
