You're right, Jake. I personally don't like their mash bill. Ole Smokey is high quality, however, the recipe isn't the greatest. Plus, there's no fun in legal shine. I'd rather spend my money on a good bourbon.
Actually it is. I was just watching Moonshiners and they were talking about how the flavors are more profitable because they cut it to 40 proof...and make a 300% profit. Believe me bro...I'm from the Appalachian Mountains and I've had shine from very good stills...say whatchu want about Ole Smokey store bought shine...but its high quality!!
Now, I will admit, old timers that used Jolly Ranchers and home made hard candy for flavor infusion had some serious shine...but it's rare that it ain't cut down any more.
Illegal also prohibition also..

"I was told today from a source close to the Foundation that the 6 million dollar salary figure that's being touted as having been already approved for a so called super hire is not true.
I was also told that the Gruden rumors are coming from a New York based businessman who has dealings with some Hog boosters in NWA.
The person I talked to said the guy is good at his job but he thinks he's full of it on the Gruden stuff.
I think it's believable that there is a target out there above Patterson and Gruden. I don't think it's Gruden but you never say never in my business."

My bar was opened in 1909 and survived Prohibition. Bootlegged whiskey out of a series of tunnels in the basement...
Opened back up for legal business the week Prohibition was lifted in 1933. Been a operating bar every since then. I own the original business license (1909) and the liquor license from 1933.
