First one I have seen coming from anybody outside of the Tennessee media family and by all reports he is a reputable media member

Frank Frangie of AM 1010 in Jacksonville has been calling Gruden to UT since the offseason, and Frangie is known to be close friends with Ron Zook.

I thought in the beginning Gruden to UT was a long shot, now I'm starting to believe it's going to happen! This is not only a home-run hire it would be a grand-slam for UT. Gotta make this happen--been down too long! Hearing rumors from the NFL side is most encouraging!:good!:

Pete Carroll's NFL win % is only around 50%. Many other good NFL coaches are not much better. In the NFL nobody wins them all.

Do you not think there are more people and companies involved and those said companies have a say so in this matter as well?

Keeping DD on board allows for all the things from both UTAD and Gruden to get worked out and that does not mean announcing DD's termination with 2 games left in the season. An official search has to be started and that will not happen till after KY but if you know you have your guy, speeding up things only looks bad on UT and Gruden.

I would also think ESPN and their deep pockets will have a say so as to when this news can be released since they are going to have to negotiate a new contract with MNF sponsors and find the guy they will want to promote to replace Jon.

This coach has an overall winning percentage of .569. Guess who it is?

Its Bill Parcells. You can go down the line of great and even legendary coaches with medicore winning percentages in the NFL. That's cause winning percentage in the NFL doesn't really mean all that much, as long as you're treading into the positive territory (and especially if you've got a Super Bowl or two under your belt).

Um yeah they can because that's the only name that has been brought up by multiple outlets. He didn't say he was interested in college football, just UT job. SUCH DENIAL
