The answer still stands. No coaching staff that coaches a sport is worth 9 MILLION DOLLARS.

Where is the cutoff? Muschamp alone makes 3.1 million. We really appreciate a Florida fan that is so concerned about our financial package for our new coach. Thank you.

Waco is not saying that. He just believes that no human who has a job in entertainment deserves any 7-figure dollar amount. he's a pinko commie.

Exactly, but unfortunately people like Saban drive the price up. And when bad coaches fail and they get paid, say 1.8 mil, the next guy wants to make more than that. Just think, next year we have a new ESPN and new partial CBS contract in the SEC, which I believe will bring 2+ million to each school. And then in 2014 the SEC network is coming and that is supposed to net 5mil a year to each team in the SEC in its first year. Can you imagine salaries in the SEC after that?

"the next coach will be gruden or dave hart will not be AD anymore within a week of new coach being hired. And I am not saying he will be fired. The ball is in gruden's and administrations court"

Please confirm: How do we know for sure that Gruden has reached out to potential assistants and/or coordinators?

HTTR 24-7 is a Redskin insider with NFL sources and he said Gruden talked to Raheem Morris.

Mike Freeman from CBS sports said Gruden is putting a staff together.

Clay Travis said on the radio that Gruden is putting a staff together.

Its about making money.

If you spend more and don't make any more for it you got a point. Its been proven you can spend more and make more, so a definite "no" is not correct.

I'm sure he feels Muschamp is overpaid as well.

We are currently (at this point in the season) paying Dooley 450,000 per win. florida is currently paying Muschamp 344,444 per win. I think they have the better deal currently. But I agree no coach should be paid this highly, but I am all for it if it works...

Don't worry or fret. Look at it this way...if he has, it's great news. If he hasn't, we're still having fun.

When I was raising my kids, they often asked on Christmas Eve, "how do I know if there really is a Santa Clause?" I told them to go to bed and roll the dice...

> 90% of people asked said no college head coach was worth $4 million/yr in 2007.

5 years later I don't know of a single Bama fan that would agree.

IMO The TV money has changed everything.

Stop arguing with Waco. You're wasting your effort. It's fairly obvious he's anti-capitalism, pro-communism, whether he realizes it or not. Waco, I'm not insulting you, I'm only making an observation.

Based on a USA Today database put together last fall, Ohio State would rank fifth nationally at $7.22 million, taking into account the salaries of the coach and assistants. Texas would be No. 1 at $8.81 million, followed by Alabama at $8.52 million, Auburn at $7.69 million and LSU at $7.63 million.

Those numbers will change during the offseason, but OSU already has made a big jump. School president E. Gordon Gee made no apologies for it.

Ohio State football: Meyer

9 Mil. is exactly where the arms race is headed.

Don't ask how much Gene Chizik is getting per win this year.
