He posted in some of the first Gruden threads that he had the opportunity to spend some time with Jay before the NFL season began. Jay had basically said that Jon would be interested were the UT job to open...but the window had to be in the next 1-2 years. Something along those lines.

I'll try and find his posts in case my memory is a bit off; I am confident that was the general gist of it, however.

I don't recall the exact quote - but it wasn't that he was coming. It was more along the lines of saying that Jon was definitely interested in the job if it were to open up.

Thanks. Biddle doesn't carry much weight IMO but I have never known him to spread info he didn't think was true. He doesn't usually have sources but I don't recall him miss representing a source before

People can laugh all they want, but I have gotten to know his brother Jay over the last year and a half. He's flat out said John would absolutely take the Tennessee job but it would have to come open in the next year or two.

LOL I dont have any "exact" quotes. We were just talking about John in passing getting back into coaching and that Tennessee is the job he'd love to get. That's about it.

You add that to people in the media (who I'm sure have sources close to him as well -- since he now works in the media) alrleady saying he'd be interested in the Tennessee job and I dont see why anyone would blow off his potential interest. It's out there for sure.

Jay is a very good up and coming coach in his own right. I think he'll make a fine Head Coach somewhere one day whether in be in college or the NFL. Very good offensive mind for sure.

This. Montrell is one of very few guys I put stock in. If I'm not mistaken, his brother was a player. He's a good dude who offers insightful thoughts and some insider info.
