Basilio's blog is also interesting. If Gruden does fall through, I would be more than happy with Stoops.

Basilio misses it with Mora though and U of W. Sarkisian was USC's first or second choice to replace to succede Caroll but he turned them down because of the impending sanctions. Which opened the door for Kiffin.

If and when Kiffin gets canned, Sark could move to USC which would open U of W for Mora.

I am one of the few who believe that Stoops would be a safer hire than Gruden.

Ainge was told to stuff it while we had no coaching vacancy

It makes all the sense in the world. I don't know that angle...so I was still unsure about how good he was "acting".

But I def trust what you're saying.

Haha, Ainge just said his people called him back and said... he changed the subject. He's full Gruden again. He's rogue!

He has to be barely a step above the average fan then, because this deal has been done for a while.

Skeeter has a great track record of factual posts going back several years. He is easily one of the most accurate posters of AD information on this site. Not sure why you are discrediting him.

I don't want safe, I want to swing for the fences. I'll take Gruden first, but Stoops would be a good backup.

Part of me agrees. But if Gruden fails (better than a 10% chance I would say) then our Athletics Department is in a world of hurt.

Skeeter has great recruiting inside info... on this particular item, he's been way off on everything he's put out.

I agree he is spot on with recruiting and things in the AD, but with Hart being so tight lipped he could not have had his usual info with the coaching situation IMO.

Im all Gruden but yeah if he has forgotten how to coach. Then a contract as large as his would be crippling. It wuld be like Iowa and Kirk Ferentz who is owed so much money they can't afford to fire him.

Same here and Stoops wouldn't be a bad hire if Gruden says no but I think Stoops is a harder get than Gruden. Why would he leave Oklahoma for anyone? I'm sure Oklahoma could match anyone's offer.
