I don't fault a man for being quiet or deflecting the Gruden "rumor" if they work in the AD department. Step one in a situation like this is keeping your mouth shut and keeping your job.

Here in Chattanooga, I'm hearing news about Von bell. He still has Tennessee as his preferred landing spot. I think Dooley being gone has made him a little more open to coming. Maybe it doesn't sound so weird, but having Dooley gone and not even having a coach yet, may help our recruiting bc guys like Von bell know Tennessee has to hit a homerun. Obviously, if Tennessee gets Gruden, itll be a done deal. We've gotta get some better cover corners and faster LB's. Grudenites unite!

There was no way that Cutcliffe and Chief were going to come back together. Ainge is either stupid or trolling now.

I heard he had contacted Tennessee and Arkansas through back channels because he wanted back in the SEC.

of course he would be the safer hire. However he wouldn't have quite the impact that Gruden to UT would have in the sports world.

I'd still take Stoops in a hearbeat though and he would be #1 if there was no Gruden

I'm almost to the point where I believe almost anyone they bring in would actually UPGRADE the recruiting class from what Dooley was going to pull.

Strong
Mora
etc. etc.
The more grass fires you have to put out, the longer it takes to get to the source. All are meant to misdirect from the main hire.....JMO, IMO.

I am big time pro-Gruden, don't get me wrong. But I also know that a 50 million dollar hire that does't work out will likely push our Athletics Department over the brink.

I spoke personally with a local sports radio personality, and while I said I thought Stoops was OU all the way, this person was adamant that He wanted out after Notre Dame.
