Skeeter isn't an insider. After what he posted about the boosters and Hart it's obvious. The deal is done. We will have the best head coach and best staff in the country.

I've said it before, Skeeter is golden on recruiting but this situation is not in his wheelhouse. He may actually be too close.

To me the only outstanding question is whether Gruden can relate his style and system to a college practice schedule and 18 year old kids. I think he can and will, but I'm not sure how anyone can know this.

Gruden is not going to piss off a few booster friends he has here to drive up his price tag. He is not going to Arky either.

Obviously, we offer Gruden the moon and make him turn us down. As far as Stoops, I would be happy if he was the next option...only if Gruden isn't an option. My concern with Stoops interest is he could use us to just drive up his OU contract. Hard to know if he's really interested. I think Gruden is more a possibility.

Skeeter has a great track record of factual posts going back several years. He is easily one of the most accurate posters of AD information on this site. Not sure why you are discrediting him.

Skeeter himself said that his connection was such that if Dooley was fired, he would probably get the ax as well. It is no surprise that he is less informed in this deal.

yep. Basically they're saying that we need to be able to get a guy like Travis Henry on campus in order to compete and Cheek sounded like he was against that. Once they're on campus then it's an NCAA issue in regards to eligibility

That's what I've thought all along as well. Several friends are trying to convince me that Arky will just push the bid to where we can't afford it. These are the same people that have told me that Gruden is the biggest pipe dream when I started saying he would be our next coach earlier in the season. All of a sudden, they're starting to see the light now that ESPN posts a story.

I can't wait to tell them all "I told you so" and begin enjoying the most exciting era of Tennessee football!!! GRUDEN 2013!

I am big time pro-Gruden, don't get me wrong. But I also know that a 50 million dollar hire that does't work out will likely push our Athletics Department over the brink.

I get what you are saying, but with Gruden I think it will be the level of success. By that I mean, 8 or 9 wins should be doable just because of recruiting. I can't fathom him not pulling in top 10 classes. So, we will have success, it's just a question of how good it can be. While there is a chance for failure, it will likely not be close to what we have seen with Dooley.

It really is telling how spot on you've been this entire time. Crazy that there are still doubters. I know anything can happen but as each day passes it looks more and more like Gruden is the man!

He's going to be a bust I think. Some team is going to waste millions on him. Where will he play besides returning punts? NFL WR are not only expected to know how to run one route they are expected to make adjustments to their routes based on the coverage. He'll barely see the field.
