Basilio saying Mora Jr. is his #1. He sure does put a lot of stock into beating a pretty lame USC team. I wonder if Mora is going to be less of a candidate next week when Stanford beats UCLA.

Mora is a good coach, but he isn't coming here. He is a west coast guy and will stay out there. I don't see any signs of him coming to UT.

I've heard that Gruden may finish out the MNF schedule before an announcement because of some contractual language in his ESPN deal. I understand that talks between Gruden and ESPN are ongoing regarding him accepting the UT job and finishing out MNF. I am not privy to those negotiations and have not seen his contract so I am not sure what the exact issues are. If these issues can be worked out expect the announcement around SECCG (like others have said previously). All eyes will be on that game around the country because the winner will be in the BCSCG.

I think it would get more mileage in the PR department if it was the Monday following. The game would take some of the attention away IMO.

No, you announce it the day before the game. The announcers would spend some time talking about it during the telecast. Get it into recruits' living rooms IMO.

When Mora was in Seattle, instead of focusing on his struggling team, he was openly campaigning for the UW job that went to Steve Sarkisian. He can coach, but I wouldn't look for him to stick in Knoxville for any length of time.

For that reason, I do not want.

Exactly. AND, Sark was a top-tier choice by USC to replace Carroll but turned them down becuase of impending sanctions.

WHEN Kiffin gets fired, that USC job is going to look better and they will go after Sark again, which will open up the UW job, which is Mora's dream job. We cannot afford another Kiffin fiasco.

Good point. More viewers would hear it that way that's for sure but it wouldn't be the center of attention. I can see both angles that's for sure
