I'm hearing a lot more "will"s than "would"s today! *When* he is announced, I've decided I will treat myself to a bottle of 16 year single malt Aberlour.

It is interesting that Arkasas would make an offer public like that. That is rarely the way it is done.

Some of you need to stop psyching yourself out about Arkansas. Gruden is not going there. We know he loves Tennessee, this is where he got his first opportunity as a coach, it's where he met his wife! Cindy will not allow Jon to choose Ark over Tenn. He won't come back just for the money. It's personal to him.

Arkansas rivals Mod (Brent Hubbs Equivalent for Hogs)

Okay, okay, maybe Arkansas made a huge and fantastic sales pitch, and maybe they asked what he thought about 6 million a year? Maybe he even slept on it. Bottom line, nothing connects these two parties other than the sport of football and a professional golfer. There are some fantastic rumors going around. Maybe some of them have a bit of validity? But when it's all said and done is the deal actually getting done? No

Gruden would most likely choose Tennessee over Arkansas. However, he would most likely choose a NFL team over Tennessee. Sitting in a booth making 5 million at ESPN isn't a bad deal either. We have a 20% chance.

Where does the 5 mill figure come from?

Me either nor have I heard of anything real interest or suggestions of Arky being a serious threat. They may have all the $ in the world to throw at him but if he and his wife aren't interested there's not much more to say.

There's nowhere to spend all that money in Arkansas. Except Walmart....yuck.

What topics in particular would you say he addressed with that intent in mind?

There's two big ones in particular -

(From Hart)

Finances:

"We are not going to let that be a detriment to securing the best coach we can. I have talked to the Chancellor at length about that."

Academic vs Athletic:

"We have challenges, we have some competitive disadvantages that have been identified, that everyone in our campus has been working to overcome, together. We have some academic competitive disadvantages that we are eliminating. These are all historical in nature. This has been the case for some time, we are now beginning to address and rectify some of those disadvantages. That are real in nature." And later, "We have simply talked about the elephant in the room and how can we make progress for eliminating anything that may be perceived by a potential candidate as a hurdle that would perhaps be tough to get over. We are going to get over all of them."
