If the offer did not get past the agent, Gruden would have nothing to deny. I honestly think that is where we are and will be as far as we get. Hart is not going to turn over the keys to the AD to Jon Gruden IMO.

Gruden says he's not UM candidate - Sun Sentinel

According to Gruden, it was just an "exploratory" meeting.

"There was nothing ever really serious about this," he said on the call with reporters. "My brother went to the University of Miami medical school. I'm a big fan. I want the Hurricanes to do well."

Gruden released a statement through ESPN on Sunday night saying, as he did Thursday, that he was "committed" to remaining an analyst. Three days later, though, he was meeting with Hocutt about the job.

Gruden said he and Hocutt "never really got into the actual specifics" during their discussion.

"That was not something I wanted to do," Gruden said. "I'm excited where I am and that's the bottom line. It was very exploratory. If I can help Kirby and the Hurricanes find the right guy, I'm here to help them do that." Gruden added, "I know there was a lot of speculation over the last few days. For that, I'm sorry."

Every rumor, including a rumore signed contract happened in 2010 for the Hurricanes job. I don't believe anything ever officially came out and eventually Miami hired Golden.

The Ravens have been softer this year than in years past. Alexander has had two huge games in a row. Far more upside than the other two players.
