If what im hearing this morning is correct, and i believe it is, time to move on from Gruden. No doubt Gruden would inject enthusiasm in the fan base and turn the heads of high profile recruits. But the man is unproven at the college level and simply wants to much control, not to mention the guy is a egomaniac. From what im gathering, its sounding like he feels he should not have to answer to anyone anything football related if he were the coach. That will not happen here. Time for plan b.

I saw a picture once of a Krispy Kreme wedding cake. Printed a picture of it. When I got home, I got down on one knee and asked my wife to marry me again. She asked me what I was up to and I showed her the picture. She just said I was lucky the first time. That cake looked fantastic.

I truly believe, at this point, anyone not named Gruden or Stoops being hired is going to be a huge blow to this program.

Even my wife is asking me for daily updates on Gruden and she's only a casual, albeit committed UT fan. She had no idea who the guy was until this started.

This could be the finest hour or the Challenger explosion. That's all I can imagine at this point. IMHO.

Or Payton. Longer shot than Gruden, but can't completely rule him out.

We've made Gruden a great offer, offered him a ton of money for assistants, and I'm sure thrown in one or two other concessions. So now Gruden needs to stop acting like a prima donna and make a decision, and pretty quickly, or Hart should move on. There are a number of very good coaches out there--guys with /college/ experience--and I don't think we should let Gruden and his agent jerk us around for several days before deciding. Auburn, meanwhile, will hire a good coach, and we could jeopardize our chances with others. Unless he's certain/ that Gruden will happen, Hart needs to get the ball rolling with his next two/three favorites. I like Gruden, but we're not going to name the stadium after him and the ncaa is not going to abolish all of its rules just so he can be happy coaching a college team.
