Official Jon Gruden Thread XIII

Even though I just joined, I've been a believer since the start.

I must say that I am out...I guess anything is still possible but it just doesn't seem likely.

The details of this will come out in the following months. If Dave Hart dropped the ball, he should be fired. If Dave Hart did indeed just contacted the Gruden camp and let this rumor fester for weeks, he should be fired.

If he doesn't knock this hire out of the park with a big name, opening day 2013 will be to a half full stadium. We need the excitement we had when Kiffin was announced.

me three!

I'm with ya!

ohhhhhhhh my sources told me Hart sent the contract to the wrong address. he sent the contract to Jay and not John. Rookie mistake - this should all be cleared up by morning.

So did Peyton and crew all fail us? What of the massive recruiting effort on their part? Their conversations with Gruden? Was all of this a fantasy as well?

Was Lamonte's dismissal of "rumors" over the top to try and dissuade any future media from questioning Gruden regarding to UT (like the Mike and Mike interview where Gruden came off very awkward)?

I don't believe its over, I am cooled on this... but based on all the conflicting reports, either something made this take a nose dive in the deal or they needed to quiet things down because it may be a while.... But I'm still in, been a fun ride!

I agree it's not over. What do you think the odds are Gruden ends up as our coach?

I dunno - still processing what has happened today.

I anticipated that there were going to be some rough waters.... but some of this was pretty bad.

Yesterday I was over 50%- now I am under 50%

Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell No!

Been around since Gruden II...I'm riding this thing out until I see a coach not named Jon Gruden at the podium.

I also must add, what type of people enjoy the disappointments of others so much? What miserable lives you guys must lead. I bet your wives are fat and your children hate you.

Anyone else ready for Gruden XIV?

The Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?

you must love History ...

I think I am more annoyed at the people who are just showing up and asking where the OG's are? They have been posting all morning and are still posting. How about instead of just showing up and trying to act like the cool kid, you read back and see what's going on. Or just stay in the FF.

Yeah, that is quite annoying and totally agree on everything you said.

Man, I just read the LaMonte quotes. I would love to know where the truth is in all of this. This contradicts everything that has been posted on here and much of what has been reported in the media.

AD v Boosters.
AD wins?
Hargis is a very solid reporter, he and the TFP are not going to press without reliable sources. Hope we get the full story.

I just received a call from Memphis from a source that has been semi close to the situation. She has nothing to gain from calling me and telling me and everything she has said has aligned with Boro, etc. She is not a UT grad nor is on this board. She was firm when she stated this was not over and disregard what Gruden's agent has said.

I for one believe that this deal is not over and there are way too many weird things surrounding this situation. I am still keep a gllimpse of hope for now. TIFWIW

You guys are so damn emotional.

LaMonte's presser literally made me laugh out loud. The people mud-slinging in here may say folks who believe this could happen are delusional and biased, but take a look in the mirror. So many contradictory things in that statement. If you can't see them, you're the one being biased.

MULTIPLE (from all angles, pro-Gruden and anti-Gruden alike) sources straight up render a good 50% of LaMonte's article as BS. When Hargis (who's vesting his career on his report) AND Wes effin' Rucker are aligning that the article is bogus - who are you going to believe? An agent, who is paid to manipulate and lie, or two reporters who, though are chasing different ends and have varying degrees of credibility, are paid to find the truth?

The fact that the statement is so gung-ho, and is just now coming out after that slam-dunk Chattanooga article last night says two things:

1.) Something has definitely happened between the two parties and implies that Hargis was a lot closer to the truth than some people realize.

2.) This puts even more pressure on Hart/UT Boosters to get this thing done. It's basically an agent taking a pot-shot at us saying there's no way we're in play, when anyone with a functioning brain knows we are and have been.

It's either a ploy to sweeten the pot for Gruden by forcing more pressure, or it's trying to divert from the process (which was coming to a head) to slow the roll of everything coming together.

Relax folks...jeeze. Use your heads.

Gary Haskew Chris, he had info.....I know. You and others doubt him, but the $$$ boys did not agree.to the assistant money.....The agent said Gruden not offdred...he wasnt....had the.mondy come then.comes offer and acceptance....Hart wins, Gruden wins....vol fans lose.....now who....BUTCH DAVIS MAKES SENSE......AS THE WORLD TJRNS

Maybe this fantasy land thing was a leverage move from the agent for us to meet Grudens demands or move on so the client can pursue othe opportunities.

Then I say let them move on. NOBODY is bigger than the program. If people feel otherwise, they simply fail to understand the very fundamentals of team sports.

Many won't agree, but I'm betting UT is going to be better for this in the long run...
