A chronology of comments about Nick Saban taking the head coaching job at Alabama:

Nov. 27:
Saban: "When I was in college it was always about coming to the pros. This is the challenge I wanted. I had a good college job. Why would I have left that if I was going to be interested in other college jobs?

"I took this as a challenge. We certainly haven't seen this through and gotten where we want to go and finished the job here, so why would I be interested in something else?"

Dec. 5:
Dolphins owner Wayne Huizenga (after giving Saban a vote of confidence): "I am completely sold on Nick Saban. I would admit we made a mistake if we did make a mistake, but I firmly believe in Nick Saban."

Dec. 7:
Saban: "I'm flattered that they may have been interested in me, but it never really progressed, because we just never let it progress."

Dec. 21:
Saban: "I guess I have to say it. I'm not going to be the Alabama coach. ... I don't control what people say. I don't control what people put on dot-com or anything else. So I'm just telling you there's no significance, in my opinion, about this, about me, about any interest that I have in anything other than being the coach here."

Dec. 27:
Saban: "I'm just making a rule to never comment on something like that again because every time you comment on it, it just makes for another story. So I'm not going to comment on it five years from now, and I'm not going to comment on it next week."
Jan. 4:
Saban: "What I realized in the last two years is that we love college coaching because of the ability that it gives you to affect people, young people. ... If I knew that my heart was someplace else in what I wanted to do, I don't think it would be fair to the [Dolphins] organization if I stayed."
After repeated denials, Saban takes Bama job - College Football - ESPN

Whats up guys and gals? Has the afternoon venom spewing started yet?

I actually got some work done for the first time all week...however, I couldn't help it and had to stop by for some of the VN meth...

Actually, from what I've been reading in the past few minutes, the wind seems to be out of the VN sails. Not too much venom...an occasional blast at Hart, shots at fellow posters, etc. Pretty typical but lacking the enthusiasm and spirit that was present earlier in the week.

In short, we are being told we should know something soon. They aren't saying very soon, soon enough, sooner than you think, not so soon or soon as I know you will know...just soon.

This thread saga is like watching a child grow.

Editions 1-5 were so cute and playful. So much joy and bliss. Not a lot of sleeping because the child needed your attention. You told people about it, and celebrated it.

Editions 6-9 people on the outside started influencing your little one. Signs of bad habits started showing, but all in all it never got bad. Still remained the calm little bundle joy for you to come home to.

Editions 10-11 things started going south. The losers from across the street come over and hang out all day every day. You find a cig in your kid's room, but the child repents and semi straightens up.

Edition 12 the thing has gone off the tracks. The losers from across the street is now your very own. It is disrespectful, rebellious, ect. No way of getting it back.

Edition 13 puberty hit and everyone knows everything now. You can't tell no one anything. Start calling out your elders (OGs), and you have located your pecker so you can't focus on anything for more than 5 min because you want to bang everything.

I predict this dream leaves us by edition 18.

Hyams just said he didn't think the meeting that was cancelled with Gruden would be rescheduled so therefore Dave Hart wasn't going to hire someone with having a meeting with them
