Official Jon Gruden Thread XIII

I just saw the pic BCarter posted at 1235pm in the last thread. No offense intended, as I respect BCarter as one of the most believable/reliable posters in this thread series.
But, I do not see anything in the picture that could not be set up on a few minutes notice. I also do not know how this room normally looks. It's possible that a student employee decided to have some fun with everyone by snapping a pic of this room and sending it out on the Internet.

All I see is one tripod in front of the UT/Verizon background.

It's the UT locker room, same room Dooley was introduced In, maxims on the left blah blah blah

It is confirmed to be from today, it is setup for a press conference, and audio equipment, etc is on the sides... just no timeline for when it is for.

This thread is like masturbation. It's frustrating to work through it, hate myself a little for wasting my time and tell myself I will never do it again. But gosh darnit if I'm not in here again a few hours later.

ok dude...

... why does it take you so long to rub one out? I didn't think it was possible to masturbate 'wrong' - but I think you have managed to do it.

So, is all the ridicule from national media part of Hart's plan? If Gruden isn't our next coach, our AD has allowed us to be bent over and sodomized by national pundits. If that's the case, Hart should be fired on the spot. Right now, I don't like how this is unfolding. I don't have half the faith most of you do that Gruden will be our next coach. Until an official announcement is made, it just sounds too good to be true. I'm terrified we're gonna end up with another lackluster hire.

. . . there is no way this mess is that big of a secret! . . .

Actually, it wouldn't be that hard to keep it tight.

In truth, there are only a handful of people that TRULY know what is going on. All Hart needs is the help of a few assistants and a lawyer or two. The fewer he tells, the easier it is to fire the person that leaked it. He has the leverage of a career over his staff and the attorney/client privilege with the lawyers.

Gruden has the same. I'm sure his agent has the legal help he needs to see to JG best interests.

Even those that have legitimate sources are getting the information second and third hand, and it is probably coming from those observing bits and pieces and filling in the blanks.

Even the big money folks who would have a say are probably not discussing the details. Those conversations are most likely "It'll cost this . . . " and they give a "yea" or "ney."

I am just sitting here enthralled by the news/no news, and then someone mentions coach "X" and I think, 'really?' This is a top ten program nationally historically, sure recent past is a bit rough, but seriously? Do some of you really think we are going to get another 'up and comer' or re-run/reject? Full dis-closer, I'm full Grud. Mainly because it make the most scene. If you take emotion out of it, what is the best, most logical choice for ALL parties? That and I also have 'little bird' syndrome. :D

Someone just posted in Cliff Notes that his salary demands weren't met. :eek:hmy: *cough* bs

In a couple of days we will hear that the salary demands are now met but now Jimmy Cheek needs to give more control back to the Ath. Dept. and relax entry requirements.

I swear the things that played out like a month ago are now being playing out in the media.

I'm going to throw something out there. Look at the Arkansas/Les Miles situation. Coaches often use interviews/coaching searches with other schools to get raises/extensions. If Hart was truly out there interviewing or even considering the folks on all these "Tennessee coaching candidates" boards, wouldn't a lot of coaches be getting extensions, at least 1/4 of them.

I don't know, that tells me that none of them have been contacted about interviews or that the coaches that we are going after, none of the schools care about keeping them.
