You see, the first week that OldVol walked on at UT as a kicker, (and keep in mind that he was very small, even for a kicker) he tried messing around with some of the LB corps. Then and there, he learned his lesson about messing around with people. As the old people say, "They broke him from sucking eggs."

Here's a question. When Saban shot down any chance of him going to Bama, where there rumors of Bama getting real close to announcing someone else? Or interviewing other coaches like we are? How about Ohio St. when Meyer shot down the rumors?

I'm curious to know.

I agree with the Dooley part and for that reason, I can't agree with the Kiffin part. Strong will so exposed as a coach he won't have an opportunity to leave...he will be dropkicked out of town in 3-4 years...

I'm afraid of how the program will be percieved when this happens. I think we're setting ourselves up for some bad, bad juju if this hire happens.

I bet we hear something 2m...The UT Fulmer induction is 2n in NYC and Tenn will probably wait till Wednesday for an announcement. I have a feeling around noon 2m we will be hearing that Strong is UT's next coach. It makes the most sense. JMO

The headline says Vols want Charlie Strong but in the article it just states he has emerged as the front runner. We are getting close to dangerous territory here. The Ath. Dept. isn't going to release info (to Hubbs/Lowe/Hyams) and then have us turned down by Strong. I'm not liking where this is going. Too close for comfort.

I honestly believe Louisville will do whatever it takes to keep him, so even if we make an offer to Strong, he's going to use it to bargain with, and turn us down.

I climbed on the Gruden train before it ever left the station. Losing hope though. Butch Davis makes ALOT more sense to me than Charlie Strong.

Bama hired Rich Rod, who then withdrew a day or so later once the boosters said oh H€ll no, go get Saban with the deal we worked out.
