*OFFICIAL* March Madness Game Discussion Thread

You have two timeouts. If you struggle to get the ball in, call another. I’m sorry you will just never be able to convince me that Malachi Smith in ISO after lazily jogging the ball up the court is a better design than calling a timeout and specifically designing up some action to get your guy a clear and open shot.

Not to mention the flow of the game and the fact Chattanooga had really struggled to score the ball the last 10 minutes of the half. Help your guys out and draw something up.
I noticed they didn't call a TO when Illinois went on that big run late. Makes me glad to have Barnes knowing when to use TOs and set something up.

I saw Illinois Center get away with a lot of contact and no fouls called on the guy. He plays like a bulldozer yet the guys on the other side both foul out ? They let one side play more aggressive in the last 10 minutes which is all I saw. Congrats to the Mocs on a good season. Hard to call that a choke job. They got sloppy and were out of gas.

Chatt had their chance and didn't capitalize. IL survived and advanced. Something UK wished they could've done. I just think some of these teams are not as good as they talk up.

Exactly... Chatt definitely wasn't creating anything on the fly off the dribble. Get a good play in but looking at what they did after the last timeout...who knows...

He got past the defense, but the guy made a great defensive play and the Mocs still had a great look to win on the rebound. MUCH, much easier to get a good shot in that situation when operating in the flow of the game rather than giving a team a chance to set up a defense. They can trap, switch up defenses, take away your best option, and so forth. You only call timeout in that situation if the offense looks confused or disjointed. This idea you call a timeout in that situation is a fallacy which continues to persist in the minds of fans.

Maybe, maybe not. You never know with these tourney games from one day to the next. That's what has me very cautious about yesterday's performance by the Vols.
If they play Houston I believe they lose. If they luck out and play UAB then Arizona will eat them alive in the Sweet 16.

Like to see rest of SEC do well (so glad KY lost though) . I guess it’s easier to pull for LSU now that Will Wade is gone. They are still cheaters and likely going down for violations.

I just don’t want folks saying SEC is overrated because KY lost .

Anyone else feel the same?

Lol LSU looks horrible but I had them going sweet 16 because I know they can be good at times and I don’t think Wisconsin is very good. I am however regretting that decision

I would say you can score in the flow of the game if you got a guy that's able to create off the dribble. From watching this game UTC guys can't create off the dribble, horrible ball handling.
I think the TO was the better play in this case, they just lost the lead after leading the whole time, not making anything. They needed to get their head straight and put a set of plays in because IL wasn't that impressive either with their defense

I wish all other sec teams would lose. Do not care much about what is said regarding strength of conference after the tourney selection. I just want Tennessee to kick ass. I want Tennessee to be considered one of the best places to come play basketball in the sec.
