Not the first time I've been wrong, and certainly won't be the last.

At the time, the whole team had been disappointing. They played much better the second half. Rinne has been at a whole new level this postseason (his postseason save % was .912 coming into this one). He played much better down the stretch as well (rested more than in past seasons).

I have a theory Rinne was holding on down the stretch just enough so he could stand on his head in the playoffs. Defense has helped him a lot as well.

For sure. Getting Subban back was a big help. Forsberg and Ardvi went off the second half as well.

ESPN hockey coverage is awful, I like Buccigross and he bought me a beer once, but Barry Melrose is a trailer park version of Don Cherry.

That said, I can't help but agree. Though I would love to see Karlsson and Brassard will Ottawa past Pittsburgh.

I'm rooting for the Preds, I really dig the enthusiasm amongst the new fans. Hopefully 1/3 stick around for the duration, grow youth leagues and so on. Easily my favorite Rangers Road Trip was to Nashville.

I expected everyone in Nashville to get behind the Preds, but never in the way that they have.

I think the new fans are here to stay because the Preds are here to stay. At least for awhile.
